Am sure she wants to be back over before long. Quite a few others were not available given the public holiday. Will be great to have more of the Manchester participants together. If you are visiting let us know!

Both bricking it for this interview but really looking forward to it. Also it's my last week of work before a fortnight of leave and seeing my family.

If this interview goes anywhere it could be pretty huge for me. We'll see, eh. Can only give it my best.

First full day of summer and driving home I saw a young mule deer buck prancing through the neighborhood. Young guy, because his antlers weren't that impressive, but they were full on velvet covered. All by himself to, so guessing he is going it on his own and will be looking to mix it up when the rut arrives with Autumn. Gave me pause and put me in a pensive state as I thought about the seasons and the natural cycle of nature. In about 2 1/2 - 3 months that scrappy young buck will start to scrape that velvet off and will be looking to get some action. Don't think he has a good chance this cycle as he is just a youngin. Give em hell Bambro!

Speaking to a friend on WhatsApp, I posted the Deus Ex "that's terror" convoys clip.

Immediate reaction "OMG I LOVED THIS GAME". Then I posted a long to the GOG sale where it's going for just over 1 dollar right now.

I feel I've done a good deed.

One dollar for Deus Ex would be a good deal, but I don't have that sort of cash on me.

Maybe I should try getting a job.

'Wearable antimicrobial copper nanomesh sticks to human skin, killing microbes nearly instantly

[...] so thin that it cannot be seen by the human eye or felt when touched. [...]

One of the main applications the researchers foresee for their nanomesh is as a surface cover for smartphones and tablets. Testing has shown that the nanomesh does not affect the performance of such devices. The goal would be to apply the mesh to surfaces that serve as bacteria and virus transfer sites, for example, doorknobs, light switches and the inside of materials used to create clothes. One possibility, a coated glove so thin the user is unaware of its presence, could perhaps provide the best protection of all, since so many microbes are transferred via the hands.'

This is exciting. I get you. She's also really super nice in person (met her at a Con once and got her to sign all my Simone stuff).

Nope.

I ended up hitting Reply to get the address and copy/paste into a browser window. Is that where you live? Easiest lawn to mow, ever.

I have to do the same when you post tweets. Not that Twitter lets you scroll down more than a couple of tweets in a thread anymore before locking it and demanding a login, bastards.

Tonight's the night! And the feeling's right!

Lord Stanley's Cup could very well be handed over to the best hockey team on the planet tonight. Gonna happen on home ice too (fingers crossed!). Given the opportunity, we're gonna temporarily accost that cup, do our best stoner MacGyver impersonation and rig that sumbitch up with hoses, pack it with the best OG Kush / purple haired sativa/indica blend and have a couple epic pulls before handing it back.

I still find it hilarious than not only does FLORIDA have an ice hockey team, but they're in the Grand Finals. Up your game, Canada and Northern USA!

Tampa Bay must be quite the sporting powerhouse these days.

EDIT: wow, over 3 million people in the greater bay area. That's a whole lot of retirees.

Avs take it! Would have been nice to win it on home ice, but the homecoming parade will be a smokey drunk affair. That's three for Colorado in the past 26 years. What's your count Can't-a-duh franchises over that same span? You're fond of poutine, sure, but how do you like them apples? Posted Image

On the messing with my groove side though, some celebrations in my neighborhood decided to set off fireworks intermittently until 2 am in the morning. Come on guys, really? On a Sunday evening? I'll let it slide though.

I got a new job! I've been trying to get out of the police for a while - for numerous reasons - and nothing has been happening.

I just got offered a job in the AML/CFT (anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism) team here on the island. It involves a lot of the same skills and bits I enjoy about the policing without the relentless stress, stupid hours, dealing with constant idiots and all the other bits in between.

Also pays about the same and gives me much better hours and flexi-time so I can have a much better home-work life balance.

I'm very happy with this turn off events!
