No injuries to report, weasels not withstanding.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

From Friday morning to Sunday morning I had about 6 hours of sleep total, due to a friend`s stag weekend. Copious amount of alcohol was consumed, much beer pong was played.
Got back to the city around 8 PM last night, in the nick of time to make my 9PM soccer game. We had 2 subs, but in the first 20 min 2 of our players picked up injuries, so if I didn't show up we would've played short-handed. As it was we managed to come back from being 3 goals down to finish with a respectable 4:4 draw. Despite being barely coherent and having to play on the left (my left foot is basically useless when it comes to hitting the ball with any semblance of accuracy), I managed to stop a few breakaways, so I'm decently happy with that result, given the kid strikers I was chasing were at least 5 years younger than me.
And today I had a day off to catch up on sleep, get a haircut (FINALLY!) and do a bunch of chores. Having 3-day weekends all summer long rocks.

Wicked!...but also
...not sure if Mac is aware that I already have all 5 volumes of the hardback ABSOLUTE SANDMAN, and Gaiman signed (in person) my single favourite Sandman story in one of them ("Ramadan")...
Still, that's a sweet sweet gift. Enjoy!

Are there any other ways of signing?
I've got a signed copy of Neverwhere. Gaiman put in a little speech bubble with 'Mind the gap!', though I believe that was his standard way of signing all Neverwhere copies.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

You can get books that the author signed "extra" while at a bookstore event that simply ended up on the shelves for sale after the event (I have a Sanderson signature like this that I bought long after the event at the store), or that they stealth signed at an airport (I have another Sanderson like this). So I just meant that it was signed by the dude while I stood in front of him...and not just a signed book.

Ah, I see. Hadn't realised that. To be honest, I don't really see the appeal of that either. Feels like buying a signed photograph of a sports personality from a merch stand. Surely the point of the signature is to have a tangible memory of meeting the person? These days that seems to have been replaced by selfies.

Oh indeed. I agree.
My sister-in-law once bought me a copy of STARDUST for xmas and thought the "signed" just meant Gaiman's sig....but instead I am the proud owner of a first ed. hardcover copy of STARDUST signed "For Juan! ~ Neil Gaiman"
Juan apparently didn't care about his signed book. LOL.

Every once in awhile, probably like once a month maybe (or longer), I will drive to this out of the way coffee shop (and it is quite a distance out of the way) and get the best cup of coffee around. Well this morning was one of those visits. Have you ever had a cup of coffee so irresistibly good that you don't want to put the mug down and instead just want to have the rim attached to your lip as you sip down every last, addictive drop? Damn it's good! I've learned constraint though, and to savor this rare experience and extract from it all the pleasure possible over a reasonable duration.

Is it filter coffee? And do you drink it without milk and sugar?

It's hoity-toity expensive coffee expertly constructed by advanced baristas who have earned their certificates identifying their place amongst the 'platinum order of baristai', which means they hold the vaunted and rare honor of being in the top 1% of their discipline in all the world.
I drink without milk and sugar sometimes, but I also like my coffee sometimes to have just a slight hint of sugar and cream. Nothing is set in stone, in other words. It all depends what I'm hankering for on that particular visit, it's sorta how I roll.

It has been at or above record high temperatures here the past couple of days (which is messing with my groove worthy), but this morning when I was leaving the house for work, I pulled in a lungful of air that had that distinctive chill snap to it that portends autumn is near. Man I love that feeling after a oppressively hot summer. Those mornings in August (occurring later and later now sadly) when the smell of freshly cut grass and that cool, crispness to the morning that says glorious autumn is almost here.
