I should say I will also be reading but I can't until I get my old lady reading glasses. I am literally falling apart! I'm not 40 until next year!!!

I got a kindle Paperwhite and love it. I don’t read like I used to, I have a hard time focusing and tend to grab my phone or PS4 controller in the times I used to read. For some reason I have an easier time focusing and have read as much in the past week as I did in the previous year. It just feels like it’s something I do all of the time again, and I could t be happier about that.

This belongs in both threads. What's making me happy and what's messing with my groove.
Last night I celebrated. I had a really enjoyable night out at a restaurant with friends celebrating the two year anniversary since I had my surgery to cut out my tumor. I decided to go off the surgery and not the chemo to celebrate. This is great news and I'm happy.
However it also brings into relief how far and how short I have come on my determination to get healthier. Now I don't think my cancer had anything to do with my lifestyle but everyone else in the cancer word was over 60 and I realized how much these guys were suffering, because of diabetes, because they couldn't get into/out of their beds without assistance etc. I was in and out of that cancer ward in a few days. These guys had to be kept under observation for a few days just to make sure they were stable enough to even survive their surgeries. So it was a bit of a wake up call and I decided to work on my fitness, lose weight and gt healthier. Now I came a decent way (mostly in the last eight months if I'm honest) I started going to gym properly, even decided to get a personal trainer to make sure I was going. My cardio was improving slowly but surely (but still wont be running a 10 k anytime soon), my strength has improved dramatically (I did ten reps on the leg press machine of 280kg this week) but I realize I haven't lost any weight (in fact I have put on a bit, some of which I like to think is muscle). With the anniversary I cant ignore the fact that even though I have made progress (which makes me happy), I haven't made near the progress I could have over 2 years.

Finally got the time and inspiration to do the Goodreads reviews for the 4 books I've read int eh past few months. Now they can go back on their shelves instead of being constant reminders of my laziness.
Giving myself 3-day weekends for the last 2 months of summer was a good choice. I might actually finally get around to sorting and getting rid of the assorted paperwork that's covering my desk in a thin layer by now.

The occasion is the godawful weather (I actually make Okroshka almost every weekend during the summer, but it was extra good during the 30+°C this weekend) and there was no kvas since we use kefir in my family.

It was supposed to be a 6 month contract.
It turned into a year
A fucking nightmare of a job.
With a few hell weeks thrown into the mix.
But the Samsung experience center in Kings cross opened its doors today and we are at practical completion, anything else now is an extra or alteration.
We had our own wee end of job drink last night, was just me and the main site manager, then a few more of the management team and client joined us.
Everyone just fucking exhausted mentally by the place but delighted to be done with it.
One of the main contractors directors was with us, basically told me to keep my phone switched on when I'm off work for the next month, they're going to ring me with a job offer.

The second page of the New York Drivers Manual has an advert encouraging you to be an organ donor! This is some black comedy stuff.

Powerpuff save the day?
Anyway, I moved house. I am exhausted. But happy. Some work to do to ensure the old rental place is cleaned up, mind - we have the lease until the end of August.

Had a great weekend.
Finished work. On Friday met up with friends, went bowling
Saturday, met up with other friends, went to the school of rock musical
Sunday met up with sister and her husband and one of my best friends and her family, then we went to the Harry potter world place, absolutely unbelievable, QT you need to get there. Bring a spare pair of pjs.
And now packed up the rest of my tools and heading home to Ireland.
London - goodbye and good riddance

I’m working out hardcore! I feel good , been doing a solid set of 2x days and been doing the Hard 75 challenge.
My goal is to get this the best shape of my life and believe I can do it.
Eating perfect too. Hopefully I can keep this going for like 6-10 months !
One hot session and one lifting session , I run only like 3x week and hike once as it’s fucking hot out still
