Damn, with all the attention our women have been getting dominating the World Cup, our men's team is getting no shine. We are going to play Mexico in the Gold Cup final! Sweeeeet! We beat Jamaica last night, who very recently beat us. This is great for our men's team, who have been trying to rebound from not qualifying for last years World Cup. Any Chelsea fans here? You guys have Christian Pulisic from our men's team now. He's going to get you guys talking.
What an awesome run for our national soccer teams! USA! USA! USA!

Home relatively early.
Weather still gorgeous, ditched the suit (see groove thread for explanation), gonna go bike for a bit, then go for a swim.
Summer, I missed you, :

The new Spider-Man movie was just great - since the character entered the mcu he has become my favorite superhero. The new movie was just so much fun!
Also an absolute shocker end credits scene - it kinda pissed me off tbh, but in a good way I suppose. Gah!

Day off. Nice and hot. Did 3 clicks in an outdoor pool in hour and 15, from 11:30 to 1. Got a nice improvement to my tan for the effort.
Short week ahead, as I'm of on Friday since we're going camping for my dad's 60th birthday.

Brings warmth to the soul!
It's our Yorkshire Three Peaks walk the day after tomorrow. The weather is looking like it will be kind to us, and I've hit the point today where I am feeling at peace with it, as well as very excited. Whatever happens on the day, I'm genuinely proud of how far I've come in the year since dreaming up the challenge and the hard work I've done to get myself on track and reclaim all the various things I'd managed to lose along the way. Even if I don't finish (... gonna smash it, obviously...
Thank you again to all the folks on here who sponsored our descent into lunacy! We're hovering at just under double the fundraising target, which is incredible.

We did the walk! Finished just inside the official challenge time (sub 12 hours), in 11 hours 57 minutes.
Blessed with the weather and the real team effort saw us all through. Currently very sore and stiff but couldn't be more worth it!
Team photo with Ribblehead Viaduct in the background - one peak and the ten miles or so between it and the second one down, starting to look a little tired!

So I'm in Stockholm for 1 night for work. Bizarre turn of events with my colleagues travel plans and I now can't do the work. So I'm in Stockholm on expenses with no job to do. Instant switch from massively stressed from overwork to "Fuck, I've got a free day in a European capital city I've never been to before"!

Finally got a break from the heat. Set record highs here on Friday and Saturday. It was a cauldron of fire that made everything miserable, worst of which was sleeping. But finally some rain moved in last night and this morning didn't give me the 'oh fuck, it's going to be unbearably hot today' dread.
And a bonus happy right now - in the Sunday paper adverts, kids' 'back to school' supplies dominate. So chuffed about that. Means the booger eaters have about a month left of summer vacation and then have to get back to cracking the books. Sucks to be them. :-p

It’s supposed to roll through here this afternoon and knock the temps down also. Heat index is 107 right now. Thank god, I’ve got 2 days of outside work beginning of the week.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.
