I'll tell you a fun story. I think it started in the Grimdark fantasy group when I was a part of that (I'm not now, but can provide insight as to why if anyone cares) - someone posted "idea: fantasy characters with day jobs anthology".

I, being drunk at the time, jumped on this and hyperactively started throwing an idea around about an orc doing injury litigation. I was all over that thread.

And then Stefan set up a group for it and said "OK so are we doing this or what". Madness. One drunken thing leading to another, quite literally.

My sister is at the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) and is waiting to be called, and the screen that indicates who's up next keeps flashing this message that says "Man Wears 260 shirts" that disappears after a few seconds. It doesn't show a pic of the guy, it doesn't transition into new messages, it doesn't do anything to follow up, and it's crackin me up.

Here's a gif I made of her video:

That's funny. My own manifesto is of similar length.

Had my first day at my new job at Friday. Looking good. Colleagues are really nice, I'm getting my own working desk soon and I haven't been crushed by the paper work until now Posted Image

Next week I get an introduction in the study standarts and storage and afterwards I'm maybe starting with field work

Got a haircut. Head feels a lot lighter, even though people are commenting the amount of visible grey hair's increasing.

Also, went for a swim for the first time in almost a month yesterday, and feeling infinitely better about myself.

Got to use my bow (Mongolian recurve) for the first time yesterday.
Went to an archery club and practised a bit with a stock bow first, then went on to mine. Man the difference was phenomenal. The stock bows are like a 20lb draw, mine is 50. The added power definitely made for more accurate shooting. And much faster, you can't stand and hold a shot for 20 seconds as easily. Which is better, the extra time does not make you aim better

wasn't overly expensive from memory, I'm gonna say like £100 ball park.
with working in shitty London and so much else going on I was resigned to not getting to shoot until the summer but got taken to the range as a surprise treat. an excellent afternoon was had.
really liked the way their built their target backings as well, should be relatively easy to replicate, as we have plenty of shed space at the farm to set up a range, so hopefully in a few weeks I can get that sorted

Celebrating my birthday tonight at an all-you-can-eat steakhouse, one of those Brazilian places where they bring different cuts of meat to your table on skewer and cut you off pieces right there.

Some advice, don't bother with the sides at those places. Waste of time and lacklustre. Stick to the meats.

Also, Happy Birthday!

Oh my god I ate too much. They kept coming with the meat swords and I kept saying yes. Well, I said no to the poor bastards carrying around chicken and pork, screw those guys. All the beef and lamb were welcome though. I stayed away from the sides mostly, until the rest of my table was finished and inpatient to go home and I wasn’t full yet. I’m uncomfortable and afraid of the repercussions of this meal.

Congrats dude.

Is there an e-book version? Who's your preferred retailer? Or can we get it from a more direct source instead of retailers/middle men?

I look forward to a future comment in the poop thread.

Mars Pods

I last had this delectable treat at least 5 years ago. I remember thinking 'my god is this the best thing I will ever eat'? Five years later I can say yes, yes it was!

I tried to make them last. We got 3 days! It was a valiant effort but I coulndt stretch the bag further than that. Now I need more!

Should sweets make me this happy?

As far as I know it's just on Kindle for now. It's an anthology though so mine is just a short, but still, nice.
