Not only did someone actually buy my novel across the weekend, they're already mostly finished with it and have told me they're really enjoying it.

Big boost, that.

Mr-Not-A-Blacksmith met my dad yesterday (already met mum). They got on like a house on fire.

Severe injuries. Scars that will never fully heal and cause a lifetime of pain.

Sounds like a normal first encounter with the in-laws.

Horse shoes and other paraphernalia were thrown, ambulance involvement was thankfully minimal :(

full application for finance is finally going in this Friday, with a view to having an answer next week. Not counting any chickens yet but the financial manager is quietly optimistic as I am in a position to service the repayments independently if the whole driving range thing goes tits up (not that anyone thinks it will, but financiers want that kind of security).

Now there's a blurb everyone would be proud of.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

First run of the New Year. Only 2.1km/1.3miles but it's a start! That's a tenth of what I'll be doing in September!

Interval training is best for cardio, in case you're dreading jogging the same laps in increasing numbers for the next 8 months.

To condition your knees, ankles and leg muscles, sorry but nothing works like hill work. :p
By that I don't necessarily mean kms and kms up hill and down dale - hill sprint sessions work just as well.

Yes.

IMO, unless you actually like running, theres no point to it. Its a very poor way to lose weight and get in shape.

Oh, wow.

Not only did my team win our quarter final playoff, but we won it 2:1, and I scored the second goal.

Granted, it wasn't anything special (I was poorly marked by the far post, and all I had to do was tap in from a perfect pass), but I'm still ridiculously pleased I didn't mess up a shot from 30 cm away (I've been known to do that in the past).

I don't score a lot of goals (maybe like 1 every 1-2 years), so it's a bit of a big deal to me. I prefer to play last man back defense, so I rarely cross the half-line. But this time I was taken down on the sideline not deep in their half, so I drifted into the box for the free kick. The play switched left, I had a lane to make a run to the far post, and I managed to bury the ball in the opposite corner with a side-foot.

Nothing really special, but I'll probably grin about this all week now.

Someone else picked up the ole book, read it and enjoyed it. More impetus to get back to writing.

Of course, I write to acid J-EDM.

Ohh yes. Tusks comment is also cheering.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.
