Thanks all! Super exciting for us. Due October.
A little sad too as we are both the youngest siblings of our respective families and this is our last kid, so both families will have no further grandkids after this.

Not when things get "fixed" after the birth so there is no future oops.

This is from my area of the world (though not my neighborhood, obv.) and it's delightful:

Off to Japan tomorrow!
First real vacation in probably six years! Nothing but long weekends since the PhD began over 5 years ago! First overseas vacation in 10 years!
It will be glorious!!!

Congrats QT, your wife is a hero and a lunatic in my eyes.
Thanks!
I told her I would be happy with one if she wanted to stop there. She wanted another, and I'm fine with that too.
In fact, she wanted three, but I convinced her long ago to give up that dream as it's simply too expensive...and when there is three they outnumber you!

We've passed the miscarriage danger zone so I can now say:
My wife is pregnant with our second child. And it's a boy!

Amazing! What is the miscarriage danger zone? We obviously had one about 18 months ago now so next time Mrs Tiste gets pregnant I'm going to be worrying about stuff...

First trimester isn't it? Chances drop massively once you're in the 2nd which is why you generally don't get someone saying they are pregnant till then and why the dating scan is around then too.
Mrs Messremb had our twins zygote tested this week and they're identicals, looks like the nail varnished big toes are here to stay.
We have two nearly 5 month olds who are getting a little tall for some 6-9 month clothes. Thank goodness for summer so we can pretend trousers are actually shorts...
Congrats QT 😊

Wow, April 21 and I woke to a winter wonder land. It's the latest I've seen snow here. Of course some of the old timers have regaled me with tales of when it once snowed as late as June and as early as Labor Day (first Monday in September). I think with climate change/global warming those occurrences are days gone by.

Like Messremb said, it’s the first trimester (12weeks). After that the chances of miscarriage drop to like 5% or something. Worrying is normal after such a traumatic experience. We worried after it happened to us.

SUN! GLORIOUS SUN!!!!
Missed lane swim today, but thanks to it no longer being winter, I was able to take my bike out of the shed for the first time this year. After a brief tuneup, went for a ride. Spent about 2 hours outside. Weather is lovely.
Also, get to play soccer tonight. Last time I had a game was the weekend before Easter, so I'm fairly eager.
