I think I've got heat stroke. Or not used to afternoon drinking. Four beers and I'm done for.

Yesterday was so beautiful that I was actually grinning out the window for no reason. It was sunny, warm but not humid (about 24 degrees, or 75 for you Farenheiters)...a perfect day, at least for me, even if it was a Monday. Of course, now it's raining and I'm sitting at my desk trying not to fall asleep on my keyboard, but yesterday was lovely indeed.

My Mass Effect Andromeda Initiative t-shirt and hoodie just arrived!

Also, Matador order a M without looking at the actual sizing so it's heaps big (the M in this mens size is the same as the XL in several other mens hoodies, weird) and he doesn't want it which is too bad for him but brilliant for me! It's my new snuggy!

They actually gave the role of Cable to the exact actor I wanted to play him.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I'm at a show for The Dear Hunter and Coheed and Cambria tonight. The Dear Hunter just finished their set by transitioning a piece of their Black EP - This Body into She's So Heavy by The Beatles. Fuck. Yes.

We've been homeschooling our son this year instead of sending him to a formal kindergarten due to issues with his speech that arose due to series of seizures he had last year.

Today we gave him a Scooby Doo read-a-long toy that comes with a Scooby Doo toy that talks back when certain sentences and/or phrases are said. We were a little unsure of the wisdom behind it as it had the potential to upset him if he was unable to speak the words clearly enough for the toy to register what was being said but so far he has had no issues with it understanding him and responding to him.

Which is freakin' awesome!

It's hard to really notice the progress he is making as 1) I can understand him most of the time regardless of clarity, and 2) I don't spend long periods away from him so there's no way to really hear his improvement so this was really a cool thing to witness and to help reinforce that he his actually improving.

Happy Zombie Jesus Day everyone!
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

On Thursday, I was hurriedly called into the place I've been volunteering at for about eight months, doing things with mostly disabled prisoners and their issues.

They offered me a three month or so contract doing something different, told me that this was crucial, that I should see this as a months long interview, are going to give me benefits right out of the gate, pay me at a rate much higher than I would have asked for, and wanted me to start Monday.

I told them I was strongly interested, needed to consult with my family and significant other, and would give them an answer the next day. I did the series of talks. Everyone told me to take this and was very happy for me. I accepted the offer Friday and I start tomorrow at the place I've been wanting to work at for about two years. They do great work and the organization is superb from top to bottom.

I'm so fucking lucky and happy right now. I am going to do my best to turn this three month trial into a permanent job.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

To all those celebrating: happy Easter.

Got back from church, with our basket of blessed food, had a nice family meal.

I think I wrapped up all the mortgage-related stuff yesterday, so that burden's off my chest.

Been speaking to my family all day, and it feels like a good day so far. Wishing the same for everyone.

Still such a GREAT movie all these years later!

Fun Film Note: There's that one scene where Tai comes over to burn some stuff to do with Elton....and Cher helps her before they have get into an argument...and you can TOTALLY tell that Alicia Silverstone was sick with a cold that day...but she was a trooper and shot the scene anyways.
