Huh. Had 21 y.o girl try to pick me up and give me a dancing lesson at a Uki disco.
When asked to guess how old I am, she said 25.
Given I'm turning 29 this year, it's a nice thing to hear. I don't feel nearly old enough to act my age, but it's always nice to get an outsider confirmation

New PC is here! It's blindingly fast when compared with my nine year old previous model, and I keep having to check it's still on because it's so quiet. Also.... I CAN FINALLY PLAY DRAGON AGE INQUISITION :D

I know this feeling! With my old PC I would turn it on and go have a cup of tea. By the time I was done it would have booted up. Now its a few seconds.....

Making me Happy:

Sunday evening was great. I listened to a 1.5 hour long symphony and read old SE interviews. The insights that can be got from there, including his original take on Grimdark are really interesting.

Also he said that after finishing TCG, he felt tired and burnt out. He felt that he could not write anything new. This exhaustion lasted a "long time" That time was two weeks. then he wrote Forge of Darkness. Really puts things in perspective. We are so unbelievably lucky that SE is so totally different from GRRM

Got some requested leave that I thought was refused when I had most put through, instead accepted, along with the one day I had a 4 hour shift in the middle of a weekend we were planning to spend miles from home changed to leave as well. So I'm off work from March 12th to March 28th. It's pretty great!
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Walk into a grocery supermarket on my way from work to buy my grandma and my mom flowers, and I'm astounded. For the first time in my 16 and a half years in Canada, there's a line-up in the flowers department. We're not talking 1-2 people either- about a dozen men, most looking very Eastern Block. Spend 20 min waiting in line, and it felt somewhat surreal. Couldn't help grinning like an idiot, because it seemed like something from a cheesy movie.

Pulled smth in my right shoulder last night. Figured I'd do some diamond pushups before heading off for a swim, but didn't stretch first. Doesn't seem to be anything really bad- only getting the pain when it's in certain positions, and not when it's at rest or when i'm typing (thankfully). I was able to swim just fine with it. Mostly i'm just annoyed at myself for such an amateur mistake (not stretching)
Be careful that it isn't a Rotator Cuff injury - those get nasty. I'd advise rest for a few days, if it doesn't hurt, train light for a week, and then see how you go from there.

Don't want to alarm you but I damaged my shoulder over ten years ago - and it hasn't been right since. Also hurts only when it is in certain positions. If it persists, get it checked out before it gets chronic.

Agree. Chronic stuff is the worst. I had a similar issue with my TFL...which now acts up ALL the time, and only working it out with exercises designed to work it out will help. It's irritating.

2 days later, the pain/discomfort migrated from the front/top part of the shoulder to the back/just above the shoulderblade/neck junction

which is a familiar spot for regular soreness I get occasionally when over-worked. And with the weekend coming up, plenty of opportunity to get extra sleep and make it relax away.

Talking out loud to yourself about what you're going to do to that plate of bacon...is not really something I'd brag about.
