It's my last day at work today!

No more full time archaeology - back to the operating theatre after I've had a week off.
Better hours, better money, and no more driving 50 miles to work every day!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I just chased a cat away from the hedgehog it was bothering, right outside my house. You do NOT fuck with hedgehogs.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I'm home from work and it's a Friday afternoon therefore...it's the longest possible time before more work! (To paraphrase the Simpsons.) Happy is I. :)

DoD came today, several days early, and I had a fun night at the casino watching UFC with the wife. Sat in a smoke filled room for several hours and instead of craving, was annoyed by the smoke the entire time. Ate corndogs for dinner. GOing on a nice drive tomorrow to see some scenery.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

VICTORY

MY MOUSE IS WORKING AGAIN

And all it took was a seventh mouse driver reinstall, AND knocking the mouse off my desk, onto the base of my chair and onto the floor!

Thanks for all the hard work, Tab key! And I hope I NEVER HAVE TO FUCKING USE YOU TO INTERNET EVER AGAIN

In my spare time at work today, I got the MySQL queries hammered out that will form the backbone of my webcomic's new site (migrating from Access/ASP to MySQL/PHP). I've picked up the PHP coding pretty quickly the past week, and with the queries done, all I need now is to hammer out the new site design. I'll be ready for the 9/21 launch date with plenty of time to spare.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Woke up this morning determined to finish a draft of something and send it to the other authors. Made it with 9minutes of the day left to spare. Haven't been outside, haven't got dressed, had a lot of caffeine. Finally got the git finished though. Result.

I was witness to my English tutor descending into apoplectic apostrophe rage when another student misused them on the board. So followed an intense 20 minute lecture on the correct usage of apostrophes, and the importance of remembering your health insurance details if you do stuff them up. It was hilarious :p
