I live in St. Louis, Slow Ben. Maybe the next time you're through you can stop in for a beer on me. My wife works for Anheuser Busch, but there are more than enough craft stops around here to take in if the old standard isn't your game. I used to live in Eastern and Western Washington as well and i'll attest to missing the beer there. I hope you enjoyed your trip.

I am officially approaching the end of my first week post honeymoon and my new wife hasn't shown signs of wanting to smother me in my sleep. I am cautiously optimistic.
If your cat wasn't meant to fly, why wouldn't they make them bigger?

Sounds good. I'm a big Schlafly fan, but if it keeps you out of trouble with the mrs we can stick with bud.

And I've been married 4 years now and this is the best advice I can give you.

If you're in an argument with your wife, take a deep breath and ask yourself, would you rather be happy or right? Because you won't be both. Make the times you're right worth it.

I read that JJ said no after credits stuff. So I left before the end...
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

That prick who bought a bunch of pharma patents and then jacked up the prices of some critical cancer, and AIDS drugs (some by more than 5000%), has been arrested by the FBI on fraud charges.

Please FBI, make those charges stick.

White Owl Whisky

So smooth, it's as if whisky and vodka had sex and the lovechild was also The Fonz.
I will be drinking this SO MUCH for the next week or so.

So.. it's whisky that has not aged for long enough to acquire colour from the barrel?

Actually no, i had that same thought, but it's been aged (i vaguely think a minimum of 7 years ), acquired the colour, then been filtered until its clear again and the filtering is what makes it so smooth.

The taste is hard to describe ... more whisky than vodka, but there's a vodka note to it, but almost no kick that either spirit usually has.

A whiskey purist might be horrified, but i appreciate the innovation and think it's pretty damn fine.

I am perpetually horrified of all things. However, I would be curious to taste something like that. Are you much of a whisky drinker otherwise?

Depends on how you define 'much' i suppose.
I can down an entire bottle of Jonny Walker Red is under three minutes have a small collection that includes some scotch, bourbon and that Canadian crap rye, i spent a stupid amount of money on own a few Japanese bottles i grabbed up when the NAS crisis hit earlier this year that have tripled in value (but fuck that i'm still going to drink them!), and it's my poison drink of choice, usually in twelve dirty shot glasses a double over one ice cube unless it's something very good that deserves to be consumed pure. Not stuck up about it tho', i'll try almost anything new, which is how i found White Owl at a party last week.

I am a very active drinker of single malt, with a preference towards Islay. The Ardbeg is pretty fantastic. Seeing how you have some crazed eclectic tastes that bend in that direction I might have to find a why to try your whisky.

Single malts were my gateway drug, then I branched out after trying some of the more funky Japanese distillers, some craft work, and so on. Still a solid fan of Islay tho. Check out the website for the White Owl people, they may be available there. Not pricey either.

Do you have macaroni, a piece of paper, and double sided tape or glue?

If so, your macaroni art card options are limitless.
