Joining the "can't wear skinny jeans" team. I have been horse riding since I was 7, my lower half is built as such. Skinny jeans aren't really made to cope with leg muscle.

Happy might not be the appropriate term, but I'm spending today drawing part of the map of Middle Earth on to a cake. I'll be pulling my hair out and speaking in tongues by the end probably, but it's for my Dad's 60th tomorrow and it'll be a nice surprise for him. So the effect of said cake is making me happy, if not the creation!

Anyone who tells you differently is either a hipster, or has been lied to by people/dubious friends about how they "look good" in them. Or they are lying to themselves.

Ha, I can't pipe at all sadly! It's sugar art pen - edible sugar icing in a liquid pen. Have used their edible paint before too, but it took three weeks to get the stuff off my hands, so sticking with the pens!

Holy crap, so you did actually draw that yourself? I was sort of kidding with the piping, I thought you used some sort of printed sheath. But that makes it even more awesome! Shame you'll have to eat it, that must have cost you ages to do. Beautiful work.

Plus if you are right and extend the point to any tight trouser then all members of late 70s and early 80s rock bands would have seen less action than a forum full of SFF reading nerds. Some of those boys looked mighty fine back in the day. Also I'd happily take the skinny jeans off one member of One Direction with my teeth!

Aww, thank you! Well, my Dad gets to eat it, he's 60 tomorrow and it's his birthday cake. The restaurant he's having a do at have very kindly agreed to bring it out during the meal.

I shall make a special point of pointing out the strategic trouble the fellowship would have "now you've earen Lorien" and such

I think one of them moved to my hometown, which means that there's definitely an Isis living in Weymouth and that we need to drop high yield atomics on it.

There's a pair of the Chain of Dogs maps on my living room wall currently! I am looking into setting an Etsy shop up so will probably do some more - unfortunately, I'm nowhere near as good when making something up out of my head, I just have a really good eye to recreate something that's in front of me.

I'm okay with slim trousers. If that's your bag, go for it.

...but skinny jeans/pants are the ones that basically act like a legging. No breathing room, or allowance for imagination. They are an affront.

In their simplest terms, they are like a Speedo, only longer.
