So damn pleased this is a three-day weekend. Granted, it's ANZAC weekend, so a bit more solemn than most public holidays, but I *really* needed an extra day, apparently.

Had my lil pooch from the dogs home for two weeks, decided to take her off her lead this morning and start to train her to not run off or go chasing stuff. Last night I sat in my appartement (in my new and outrageously comfortable wing chair) with a good book. Nice jazz in the background, a good cup of tea. All the shelves are up. I've finished painting the walls. Done some small repairs here and there. The place looks good. It looks mine.

I sat there and for the first time in, well, since all that shit went down, I felt kind of at peace. Happy, I guess. I realised I felt that way and the relief that flooded through me at that thought, it made me light headed. I'm still not ok. Not by a long shot. However, I'm getting there.
