I remembered why I used to listen to jazz. Been spending the evening alternating between Thelonious Monk, Myles Davis and some mellow Diana Krall tunes. Stress gone, super relaxed and I love it.

Get some Ornette Coleman (The Shape of Jazz to Come), Charles Mingus (The Black Saint &the Sinner Lady) & Count Basie (The Atomic Mr Basie) down you!!

Thanks, it is really unreal that I am going to be a dad. But luckily I have some time to get used to the idea.

Labor day! It's Monday morning and I'm sitting on the couch drinking coffee watching Mike and Mike instead of working. Now as long as the poop factory stays asleep....

The weekend went really well. I feel like Shiara and I are both awesome hosts and awesome friends.
Three of our friends all had really shit/stressful weeks all for completely different reasons and none of them were in a great mood come Friday. We had all 3 of them around for the night, we got through 8 bottles of wine, some spirits and liquers. There was much chatting and being silly, and mostly there was relaxing and not worrying.
They all had the good night they really needed and they all seemed much better for it.

I am really happy it went so well, glad it seemed to help and proud of our hosting and friend skills :)

My boss said yesterday that my employers have put me under an unacceptable level of stress and that I don't need to go back to work until Monday. I took this Monday and Tuesday off out of spite anyway. I am currently sat under the apple tree in my garden being sung at by the resident robin (he's also trying to steal my toast but I forgive him). Steak on the BBQ later for dinner and the only serious thing I have to do between now and then is revise for a preliminary phone interview for a job I applied for a couple of weeks back. Ahhhh, in your face responsibilities!

Whats making me happy is that in clearing out my wifes granddads house (he is in a home now) my father in law found a bottle of unopened limited edition special reserve Glenfiddich. It could be one of the greatest things I have ever tasted. And as no-one in my wifes family drinks scotch I got the whole bottle. Seriously, I have had good whiskies before but the trumps all of them. Part of me wants to devour the whole bottle in a mindless mouth orgy. But I shall make it last. Once its gone I doubt I will ever get a chance to drink any again. Any Manc Malazites want some let me know. :(

Not breezy - still wearing pants and trousers - but cleaner. Once you start to shave it's very hard to go back to being hairy.

This is so true. I mean, I don't go full Telly Savalas or anything, but keeping a nice fade pays dividends and avoids many a zipped up pube.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Auditioned for a musical and got in! Seeing as how many of my friends have suffered their share of knockbacks before a breakthrough, this certainly is confidence-boosting :D Having fun so far!

Oh, and I finally, FINALLY found a copy of The Scar by Mieville. FUCK YEAH MOTHERFUCKER.
Suck it Errant!

Just seen Diablo 3 for the PS3 in ASDA and was completely shocked, I didn't even know there was a console port in the works. So I bought it....
I noticed, with the same levels of dumbfoundity, there's a new splinter cell title available too, which I've obviously been awaiting since the last no show on PS3.
Having not played a Diablo game before and being a series long fan of Sam fisher, it was a hard choice. I think my love of Baldurs Gate swung it.

Good choice?
