It is specifically mentioned that Dragonus survives the chaining and is set loose apon the world again. That is of course because brood smashes dragnipur, so that those remaining inside is free again.
Now I am wondering, who survived besides draconus? As I recall, it is mentioned that when the gate to darkness was removed, chaos stopped since it didn't have anything worthwhile fighting for anymore in that realm at least.

So isn't it possible that hood survived as well? Last time we saw inside dragnipur, draconus was speaking to hood. This could imply that he survived as well, but maybe he isn't king of high house dead anylonger?

Also, who do you think survived as well? Pearl probably for one.

Pearl is mentioned by name as having fallen to choas.

I too think hood survived. Which find odd as hood said that he would be gone and no one would rule the realm of the dead once he is gone. Yet if he lives...

He made a deal with Paran, who has the power to change peoples roles. He could probably stop him being King of High House Death.

So it seems more people than just me thinks hood survived. Well, if he was just to wonder, I guess we could revert back to being an immensely strong jaghut ascendent?

I don't think that it will matter. Before hood left he closed the gates to the realm of death. Then he took all of the dead with him into the Sword. As such the realm of death as we have know it is gone. Hood said this when he said that he doesn't care what happens to the dead souls anymore. He sent Toc away to inform the gods of war (whom Toc has a connection with) that the end times were upon them and that they needed to prepare for it. I think that hoods agreement with Paran has something to do with Hoods life after the end of the realm of Death.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

He might also be up to taking the throne of Omtose Phellack. Now that the Imass are no longer hunting the Jaghut and since there are several still alive and around maybe hood has decided to go back to Omtose Phellack and run things there.

Raising the question, if it is CG that is the big issue or chaos itself. It could be pretty awesome if it was chaos and then the CG ended up saving everything

Well I think that in this series it will probably be the CG. (Name of the last book a give away :D ) But the ultimate end times battle will probably deal with Chaos. Since this is a world were things take a long time to develop the Gods of war might have another 100,000 years or so before chaos attacks.

Anyone has any idea what this means for necromancers like CorbalBroach, Bauchelain, Deadsmeel....? Can they still use the white candle (was it white? dunno)?

*edit* Or did Hood just close his gate? But my interpretation of MasterQuells words leaves me to think that they couldn't get into Hoods Warren at all. So no white candle any more?

I felt like I was hit over the head with a board when I finished it. So much to process, and my god, the implications of it all! And Rake, dammit, why Rake!

Since all of the Bridgeburners are ascendants and the Bridgeburners in particular are connected to Paran I have to say that they will probably be his little Army that can...:D
