If they ever make a Malazan film, Kallor should be played by Samuel L Jackson.

And no, I don't care about the fairly obvious arguments against this. He's the only motherfucker bad enough to play him...
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

No don't agree. You need someone tall, gaunt and old looking with grey hair.
Clint Eastwood would be better suited to play him. Unforgiven Clint Eastwood anyway.

No, just no. Samuel Jacksons credibility as an actor is being ruined by him always having to play a badass motherfucker, the last ten films I've seen with him or something has been like that. I don't need to see him running around in chainmail and shouting motherfucking dragons, etc.
Clint Eastwood is a great suggestion allthough he'd have a heartattack if he attempted to make a fightscene now a days.

If I was being serious, I'd have suggested Sir Ian McKellen. Maybe Christopher Lee but he's a bit obvious.

hmm ya see in fantasy terms they're always gonna be gandalf and saruman to me. Christopher Lee would work I think, im not sure how well his face fits but he makes a damn good bad guy but as ya said he's practically a sterotype bad guy now.

Yay, a casting thread!
I thought the same about SLJ until I saw Unbreakable recently, where I thought he was excellent. Come to think of it, stick a beard on Bruce Willis and he might make a good Whiskeyjack

It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Thing is, Kallor swears enough in TTH to make Samuel L. Jackson (the L stands for mother fucker) a plausible candidate. Not that I'm complaining, but it is funny to go from Kruppe's waffling to Kallor's "FUCK THAT SHIT" ranting.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I blame the forums (particularly Illy) for having a bad fucking influence on SEs writing. I mean there' nary a single fuck in the prior books, although I have to say this was somewhat unrealistic.
L Jackson, no chance. I just don't see Kallor as a bruva.

Nah, Christopher Lee was my choice for Andarist. Christopher WALKEN, though...

I always thought Christopher Lee but Jeremy Irons would be a good choice.

Like I said I wasn't sure it was the right character for him:p but what I am really wondering at is who would play shadowthrone?

I could see Terence Stamp as Kallor... Though he might be too old at near 70

Anyone could play Shadowthrone really. you'll never need to show his facial features, perhaps the bottom part of his face maybe, but that's it. He could be entirely animated and you wouldn't know.

That's the nicest bandwidth theft image ever.
