My best guess is that he tried to come back, they said no thanks, he asked to be released, they said no thanks. Then he said it was all a rumor. Either that, or it really was all a rumor to begin with. Either way, he's not coming back.

Yeah he has too much pride to show that, and he has too great a sense of history and his place in it to soil his career by playing with a different team.

I feel so bad for Rodgers, his first NFL start they're retiring Favre's jersey. Can't get out from the guy's shadow.

It's never easy following a legend. The kid seems to have a certain.....confidence though. I like how he got "lippy" with the media and the fans....shows he isn't afraid to step in that shadow....yet

As long as he backs it up on the field, it's fine if he gets a little lippy. I apologized for what he said about the fans though.

I really feel all this is in poor taste and will do nothing but hurt Favre's image/legacy...

Trade him to the Dolphins for a 4th round draft pick...just so he knows how much he's really worth.

I have no strong feelings either way concerning Favre. Just like I don't give a shit about Dan Marino.
Favre's making an ass of himself and so I will poke fun at him.
