Yeah the ending is one of the things I've heard a lot about. Not in terms of details just as a "one of the best ever" discussion.

Zoomed through Widow's Bay in a couple days. Consistently very funny, and suprisingly consistently spooky. As a bonus, aside from the first and last episodes, they range about 30-35 minutes each so very bingeable. The cast is chock FULL of ringers who can do drama and comedy with equal footing (e.g. Stephen Root). Loved it.

I have the last 3 episodes to watch but this show is an absolute delight. Definitely a recommend.

I'm past episode 30 of the 40 eps for this and it's really just genuinely one of my fave shows. The way it morphed at around episode 22-23 from the small town romance politicking to the broader conflict and now just open war with tonnes of action and crazy fights was so subtle, there was a war/battle scene in episode 26 or 27 that would rival anything they did on GOT. I am closing in on the end and I'm going to be SO sad when this is over, it's been such a wonderful ride.

I also grabbed IQIYI on a deal again so that I could get back into LEGEND OF THE CONDOR HEROES (2017) and finish it (though it's 52 episodes and I'm at like 13...LOL) and it's wonderful too, but in a different way as it's full tilt Wuxia fantasy...but similar emotional character arcs to Jade.

I have some other C-Drama recs lined up after that, but I wonder if anything will quite hit the same as these.

Is house of the dragons just doing shock for the sake of shock to boost ratings. I find it boring.

Should I be sad that Korra's tenure led to an inevitable apocalypse? Like don't get me wrong, a post-industrial society collapse universe where shit like old motorcycles still exist is cool as hell....but what happens after Korra that led to this?

Either way I'm SO excited for more Avatar. Also the animation is lovely. And Korra was one of my fave animated series of the last like 20 years.

Finally leaning into the comic-booky aspects in this trailer. Not sure about the personality of Hal, who's an asshole in different ways to the usual Hal, but in and of itself that looks really good.

I enjoy it, but man why would you ever work with any of the people at that firm.

Why would you stay in such an industry if this was any true reflection of the real world, that's what bugs me about the show.

No-one in their right mind would stick with that level of shit

Star Trek strange new worlds is back. I like the show the most out of all the new trek, though it can be uneven. However the latest episode has me asking is it ego that has the writers keep making huge changes to a 60 year old franchises canon but in a way that is also meaningless

Three things: 1) this is a show that was originally intended to be a private equity show that was morphed into the legal world by network executives, so it doesn't make much sense; 2) the salary/money is why people stay with seniors and partners like Louis (first years are making close to $250k right now) and the lifestyle scales up to match very quickly; and 3) the show abandons realism very, very quickly to go for "is this fun?"

Yet at the same time all this is happening, it influenced the Big Law world to a point where young folks entering Big Law think they need to act like this. It has changed reality to fit itself by how big a hit it is.

I gave up a few series in because the entertaining aspect of how unlikeable the main senior characters were had worn thin. Most of my original draw in was Gina Torres (Zoe from Firefly) as I hadn't seen her in much else.

Didn't know about the private equity original premise though!

Yeah, Harvey has become unlikeable, Louis they're trying to make lovehatable by playing on his paranoia but its falling flat hes just a tool, Jessica is too hard nosed and coniving but somehow is the best of the 3. Mike is rapidly turning into a tool, a very selfish tool, and Rachel I just feel sorry for.

Donna is likeable, she seems to be the only half moral compass of the main cast.

Hardman is such a cartoon villain. Again why does he want back into the building, hes making a killing elsewhere.

Eric Roberts as the scummy venture capitalist is perfection though
