Indeed!

I love that this is because no one on certain TV and Movie production teams even thinks about contacting someone in the "know" about the topic at hand in the movie, and they just wing it when writing it making shit up because they think the audience is too stupid to notice.

Example: This is how you got Holdo in TLJ espousing utterly nonsensical tactics and piss poor leadership in a military role (presented as "good")...because Rian Johnson could not be arsed to hire a military advisor to help with his script.

But yes, this happens ALL the time in film/tv because of laziness.

Ah but wait...the scientists in PROMETHEUS were INTENTIONALLY shit...as per plans by Peter Weyland who didn't want them to be "top of their field" because they might have caught onto his plans being selfish...so he personally conducted the interviews with them (on the BuRay Special Features) and chose people who would be able to do their jobs at a workmanlike level, but not be clever enough to grab wind of his plans. You will notice, that the people who he NEEDED to be the best at the jobs (The Pilot and Crew of the ship) were the most competent people in the film.

I feel like I'll be defending that movie forever.

If only B&W could have been arsed!

I was willing to accept/didn't notice the one (GoT) because the rest of it was super entertaining. The Same cannot be said for the last SW film.

Get off the internet now because nothing you do for the rest of the day is going to match this. Go take a victory lap, get drunk, get high, have some sex, whatever you need to immortalize this moment.

I'll always remember where I was when QT was completely pwned by Worry in a Star Wars related discussion. It'll live on in memory for years.

Damn, that first episode of Chernobyl though. The creepy level was at 10, and I don't even think this is supposed to be a horror mini-series (or is it?).

Do you taste metal?

And then that speech by the old dude about not questioning the state and to find purpose in your labor and all that. Oh, and the 'good' radiation detection device (that just so happened to be locked up) that reads to past 1000, gets cooked by readings taken around the building (not at the reactor core). Holy fuck, I would have jumped in my car and driven as fast as I could out of there!

I'm on second episode of Chernobyl. I agree with Malankazooie, this show is horrifyingly creepy!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Watching Ep 1 of Chernobyl.

Great show. Very well done so far!

But as I said, hard as hell to watch.

And I just finished episode 2...It's been a while since a TV show has made me feel physically bad.

This show, so far, is horribly well made.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

What day are they new?i was expecting Sunday night but Ep 2 wasn’t up.

The line of dead fall like trees surrounded by green ones hit me harder then anything else in the ep.

They air on Monday night.

I have a guy who works in my office who is from the Ukraine originally and I asked him about it, and he said that as a kid they hid it so much that he and his friends were outside breathing in this air filled with an almost imperceptible smoke/tang and had no idea. He's okay health wise luckily, but he says it was as covered up for them in the immediate vicinity of the country, as it was the rest of the world initially.

Fuck Anatoly Dyatlov. What a reprehensible prick.

I'm a fan of the 'aerial' series on the Smithsonian Channel. Enjoyed both Aerial America and Aerial Cities.

Well, their 'Aerial Britain' series of episodes wraps up this Sunday with fly over of Scotland.
