Season four of Black Mirror on Netflix. I cannot believe how good this series is. Charlie Brooker is a bloody genius.

This. Only seen the first episode but it's phenomenal!

Breaking Bad sucks.

I have a bad cold right now so all weekend I binged Season 14 of Project Runway (latest on Hulu, not sure how behind that is) and it was pretty good, even if Swapnil was continually frustrating in underachievement. Good top four, but I didn't quite agree with the winner, oh well.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I guess I kinda have to agree. I couldn't finish Breaking Bad, it was just so...generic.

It wasn't the actors, they're cool. The characters they portray are also cool. The story was decent and the direction was decent as well. To me, I guess, Breaking Bad is an example of how a lot of good things come together to form something that's just not very good.

I did not enjoy it.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Oh, sorry, I was kidding, I just wanted to get one more in before the New Year. I would rate BB as a "pretty good" prelude to the "excellent" Better Call Saul.

Finished NARCOS S3.... solid. The post Escobar phase of this series did not suffer.
Into VERSAILLES S2... considering they jettison all of S1’s cliffhangers in the first five min of the first ep, I was worried... shouldn’t have been, they were just clearing the deck for even more madness. Great series, beautifully shot, wonderfully malicious.

I watched the first episode of Terrace House: Aloha State. I finally see what BK, QT, and the others have been talking about — there's a lot to like.

its inbetweeners humour but it still work

BK, unsure of you know...there is a new TERRACE HOUSE coming...

TERRACE HOUSE: OPENING NEW DOORS, which returns the series back to Japan, in Karuizawa, a popular Japanese resort that is accessible by car or by one hour train from Tokyo, surrounded by nature and Western-style buildings imported after the 1880’s.

WOOT WOOT! I hope they keep making this show man, I love it!

Yeah. I'd love to check out the back catalogue seasons that we've not seen.

Hell, the amount drunken Seina shows up in the B&G season AND Aloha State tells me her season should be AWESOME. LOL

The most fascinating thing to me is how damn awkward and bumblefuck the guys are at making moves on the girls. It makes me want to shake them and zap into tv to show them how to get the girl!!! It has to be a cultural courtship thing. It's so weird.

So weird! It's almost like there are camera and audio crews standing over them recording everything, and production staff just to one side telling them what to do or something.

Scuze me now while I sip this DIET COKE and turn my head so the logo on my RAY BANS reflects the light properly.

Nah, the camera's are un-interfering and the only producer choices happen in studio later with the expansive footage from each room...but BK is right. It's a cultural thing. My buddy lived in Japan and he said that courtship stuff there is VERY slow-moving. Like glacial "Should I hold her hand" at the age of 25 kind of slow.

If you watched the show you'd understand why your suggestion is ludicrous. :p

Yeah pretty much all the interactions have reminded me of what it was like to be in middle school crushing on a girl but these are grownups. It is fascinating to watch. I want to go in and show them what to do. Just simple things, making contact, brushing hair out their eyes, telling them they are beautiful. They are like preteens!

Ummm ... these days that sort of behaviour is likely to get you reprimanded, eviscerated on social media, arrested or sued. Or all of the above.

Times have changed mate. Maybe the Japanese way is closer to the better way after all?

I dunno.

Just because you may be interpreting her actions as being into you, doesn't necessarily mean it's true.

Then again I am a naturally risk-averse person. I look at some of the stuff I did (usually when drunk) when I was much younger that I got away with (pretty benign stuff btw) and if I had my time over knowing then what I know now - and hopefully being a better person now - there's no way in hell I'd pull that crap again.

Besides, in this day and age with the desire for gender parity, it's no longer up to the guy to make the first move. If she doesn't make a move, she obviously isn't interested. Or interested enough. Much safer for everyone that way.

EDIT: apologies for tangent, back to TV shows ------->

Just finished season 3 of Detectorists. It hit every single note perfectly. Highly, highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for an understated, sincere show in which every episode feels like a stroll through the British countryside on a beautiful, warm, sunny day.

I will miss this show.
