Just finished season 3 of Detectorists. It hit every single note perfectly. Highly, highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for an understated, sincere show in which every episode feels like a stroll through the British countryside on a beautiful, warm, sunny day.

I will miss this show.

One of my very favourites. Superb and lovely and very funny.

WORMWOOD. Watched all six eps. It's interesting. This was my first Errol Morris doc...and it's fine. I mean the documentary aspects are great and it's compelling throughout. But the pricey-cast "reenactments" and the gloomy nature of the entire thing was offputting. I think buried in there is a great three hour solid documentary...but with three hours of weird editing and camera choices, bizarre single shots, and an overwrought production of reenactments.

They also spend a little too much time allowing the son of the subject pontificate on things. I got tired of his voice.

Still, worth a watch!

I think there should be a bit in that show where on a random day, old mate Bachelor drops in unexpectedly and gets to see the ladies just as they get out of bed before showering, putting on their war paint/vaseline on teeth etc.

Might help the culling process. Good for a larf anyway. :)

I'm not sure why I've never heard of this, but it looks fantastic! I'll find it to watch now for sure. Is it on Netflix?

It is an utter joy to watch. Brought me to years of laughter one minute and years of happiness for the characters the next.

Well. I already blazed through season 1. Utterly LOVED it! What a totally unassuming, but genuinely entertaining show. Also, bought the theme song on iTunes after like episode 2.

The ending shots/season 1 are PERFECTION.

Thanks for the recommendation all. What a wonderful show!

Onto season 2!

I've been wondering about it. At least on my end of the algorithm, Netflix had been promoting it pretty hard as a suggestion.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

The theme song is my second favorite show theme, with the opening theme from Mushi-shi being my number one and the Adventure Time theme my number three.

Ah, good stuff! Crook's scripts are surprisingly adept at typical human reactions and emotions, so I'm not surprised.

Watched Detectorists episode 1...for such a gentle-paced show they packed a surprising amount of plot in there. I liked it quite a bit. Will def be watching the rest (though Netflix has only 2 seasons up).

Also noticed Netflix has Planet Earth II up so I can finally watch that.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

It's probably Blue Planet II, which aired in UK last year. The original Blue Planet was great so I wanna see that too.

Yeah the third and final season of Detectorists finished not long ago on BBC so wait a few months and no doubt it'll appear.
