Watched the Flyers lose in an OT Shootout to the Jets, then fell asleep watching Gotham on the Tivo, needless to say I didn't watch The Orville either. Thursday night TV 3, acesn8s 0.

Edit: Netflix released The Punisher and the next season of Longmire as well.

Finally got around to starting Peaky Blinders. Wasn’t a big fan of Cillian Murphy in the Batman flicks, but he’s great in this.

2 episodes in and I’m digging it so far.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Moone Boy is on Now TV so we started watching...

a. It's freaking hilarious.
b. I'm fairly sure it's mostly based on Macros' childhood (in the same way that BK's life pretty much mirrors the first season of True Detective)

I laughed...but I gotta wonder who BK is talking about.

"The Man" could be any number of men.

Still, The ORVILLE is amazing and every bit the Star Trek show I wanted on TV and there is not a week that goes by that it doesn't continue to prove that.

Also, this week gave us the plumb exchange (on what was a great horror-themed episode):

Maloy: Was it a circus clown or a hobo clown or what?
Alara: What's the difference?!
LaMarr: Hobo clowns are the most dangerous because they're hungry.

This is the story of England 'discovering' colors besides brown and grey, right? Looks like they get to at least red and orange during this mini-series, but I bet there'll be some they didn't want to give away in the trailer.

The final scene should be an uber-woke suburban white freshman in Guy Fawkes mask crashing a peaceful BLM protest to throw Molotov cocktails into Starbucks for some reason.

Voyager S6 Ep 16 was another winner. Borg kiddies! Was interesting. I decided to take a break as the next Ep description said it involves Fairheaven which was the location of that stupid Janeway/Hologram love Ep. Boo

I agree that the first Fairhaven episode was pretty boring and pointless. But s6e17 is actually pretty fun.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Good Recent TV for me:
That "The Problem with Apu" documentary from Hari Kondabolu finally came out. Pretty good. It's not fully satisfactory for reasons that are out of Hari's control and that actually get built into the film (it aired on TruTV, which is why I'm putting it in the TV thread). Lots of interesting perspectives. Wish there were more from people involved with The Simpsons -- Dana Gould has his say, but I'm kinda surprised Conan didn't do it (I presume he was offered, but do not know that for a fact). But it's clearly a labor of love (or hate) for Hari, and the talking head stuff is pretty good from all the people who appear.

I binged both seasons of One Mississippi, Tig Notaro's show on Amazon. It's semi-autobiographical, so if you know her recent health & family tragedy history from her standup, the first season covers that stuff. The second season deals with other aspects of her life I didn't know about, but is just as rough. It's semi-fictionalized, but the heart of the stories are true. To be honest, this show is emotionally brutal in ways I just didn't expect, even knowing some of her story. She's so deadpan and wry when on stage, but the show digs a lot deeper and wider into how she and her family and loved ones dealt with it all. Lots of sadness and anger come through on the show. Season 2 kinda got some noteriety for reawakening the Louis CK stuff (in the same way Hannibal Burress awakened the Cosby stuff), but that's not even nearly the half of it. It's a small, excellent cast and the dude her plays her Aspy stepdad is so wonderful. And it's also really funny, naturally, I just didn't expect such a gutpunch as well.

Binged season 2 of Vice Principals. Loved it.
Finales of Better Things and You're the Worst: loved them too.
In the middle of Lady Dynamite season 2: love the goat!
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Robert Picardo is the MVP of that show by a long shot!

Man, The Alienist has been in my TRP for years and I keep pushing it down or forgetting about it.

Counterpart looks pretty interesting. Well, it doesn't look interesting, it looks hella drab. But it feels interesting!
