I'ma just leave this EXCELLENT redo for the theme song from the new DUCKTALES show here. Sidetone: The ONLY other cartoon theme song that I love as much as this is the one from GUMMI BEARS.

I'm so happy they left this track largely intact to what it was.

That's cuz it's a combination of "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall & Oates and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears For Fears.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Ron Swanson: I'll have the #8.
Waiter: That's a party platter sir, it serves 12 people.
Ron: I know what I'm about, son.

Love this damn show.

So, I was listening to the Big Finish podcast and new 8th Doctor companion Rahkee Thakrar suggested that LINE OF DUTY was her favourite show....and I'd never heard of it before. BBC2 apparently. It was on Netflix, so I banged through the first two eps last night. Wow! Great twist on a police procedural. Loving it!

It had to have been bad indeed. Rape came to my mind when I heard this. Corrine was the number 1 reason I was so excited for this particular season. Hope everyone is ok.

Now says allegations of misconduct

Sounds like she and another contestant got blackout drunk and had sex...which she doesn't remember (he does). But she's not blaming him since she said they were both drunk...but she is lawyering up against the shows producers for not protecting her. Seriously, what kind of fucking asshole cameramen and producers just ALLOW two completely inebriated (and therefore not in their right minds) people to get involved on that level and not think to stop it?

Going by the rules of wild life photography it's best to not interfere in the natural biological cycles of reality TV animals.

I'd ask, how the hell is it the programs job to protect a contestant from getting drunk and fucking somebody? Hell, that stuff would be a just another Tuesday in some of the shows we have here in Denmark.

And what Danish shows are these?

You know, so I can avoid them easier... :(

Paradise Hotel, Big Brother, Kongerne af Marienlyst, etc. I don't watch this stuff but it's impossible to avoid it. Thankfully my parents never got into watching that stuff.

EDIT: Kongerne af Marienlyst (The Kings of Marienlyst) was basically just a show about young people going to a breach town, getting drunk out of their minds, fighting with one another, exposing themselves, fucking one another and puking everywhere. Felt like my teenage yars condensed into 30 minutes.

Small side note: My friend Mike won the Alt for Danmark reality show about 5 years ago. It was pretty strange seeing a friend I use to game with all the time on a TV show.

I started watching the Sopranos. I never watched more than a few episodes back when it was on TV, so I thought now was the time.

It's a curious show. The normalcy of their every day lives contrasted with what ever crime of the day they show in the episode. It makes for interesting TV. It's fun to observe the relationships between the characters. There's that Italian mobster family code running through everything. A strange reality distorting logic that sort of makes sense but also seems mad.

Any of you guys know how deep the show goes? Do they get into the finer details of how the mob works higher up? Because I'm watching the show and all I can think is how inefficient this business seems. They're a relic of the past more than anything.

Fairly deep.
The relic elements are deliberate and relevant to how the show proceeds.

Just finished SENSE8 season 2. I AM REALLY FUCKING BITTER ABOUT THIS BEING CANCELLED. Comments in the ded-thread.

GENIUS. I can't get into this show. Einstein is an interesting historical figure but his past and family life are just not all that original as tv goes.

BLOODLINE s3. A couple of eps in and i cannot decide whether doing a third season was a good idea. Right now everything is just frantic and dark and shit and getting worse, with little of the interpersonal drama that made Ss 1 and 2 interesting.

Your the 2nd person in 2 days who has started Sopranos in my life. Weird

It's great and HBO golden years show with it, Deadwood, Rome and OZ.

I REALLY wanted to see what ROME would have been past the Julius Cesar/Youngish Augustus era. The first real strains of Imperial Rome. I would have loved if Heller had made it jump to different eras of Rome as well (I'm a late Roman Empire guy myself, LOVE the 300-400 era).

It also sounds like the original plan for the ending of ROME was dark AF.

Man, I miss that show.

Ah yes, I've been meaning to watch Oz and Rome as well at some point. I remember watching Oz in the 90s. It was pretty brutal for back then.

If you listen to the cast they ll tell you Rome was axed to make GoT.

Funding both shows would have been stupid expensive.

Go read Masters of Rome

Did you hear that the original ending of ROME Heller planned after 4-5 seasons was going to be:

Spoiler

Yeah, I've still got FMOR on my ToRead pile. I think I'll tackle it this summer for sure. Perhaps after the new Osten Ard book drops next week.

I finished season 2 of The Last Kingdom. I thought it a great improvement over season 1. They did a great job at showing the conflict between Uhtred and Alfred.

The IT Crowd really caught me and now I love it. My local PBS station has started airing season 2.

I think I really got on board when the guy behind the red door was revealed. He's really into the one of the best contemporary dark wave bands: Cradle of Filth. That and any time the head boss wanders into the scene, you know something absurd is going down.

It's not literally a cradle of filth?

ewww, no. That would be horrible.
