Watched season 1 of Hannibal since Gust Hubb recommended it. It was surprisingly good. Thank god it wasn't another monster of the day type CSI/FBI bullshit but actually seems to have a more prominent main story arc.

We are watching Fringe. Re-watching S1-3 which we saw a few years ago and then the final 2 seasons. So much love for that show!

Fucking love Castle, fucking love Persons of Interest. I am flip flopping between the pair of them at the moment.

Game of Thrones is a joint adventure which we both love and watch on the weekends.

Watched all of Hemlock grove thanks to you guys.

What should I watch after these three? I am looking for recommendations, I usually watch Netflix UK.

Also Big Bang Theory, Modern Family and Gogglebox are all joint watches.
Apt is the only one who reads this. Apt is nice.

Netflix UK? Have you watched Prison Break? Superb TV and only 4 seasons long (the 3rd and 4th seasons dip somewhat in quality but definitely worth watching through!)

Dexter is quite good though we gave up after S4.

Archer is hilarious but only 3 seasons on Netflix.

Arrested Development is an absolute MUST.

All of 24 is on there and I flipping love it.

Chuck is definitely worth watching through, as is Sherlock, which is now on Netflix.

Hope they give you some ideas.

I think 24 is a good shout, I have only watched the first 2 seasons.

Chuck is about what? Which show would you relate that to?

I am not sure about Sherlock.

Dexter I have the box set but have never got past a few episodes, I used to watch it when it was on normal TV at 11:30 at night but not religiously.

I have seen first Prison Break. I am not sold on it, and I don't like Cartoons anymore (Archer) although Family Guy will be watched if there was nothing else on TV.

Chuck - comedy/action/drama. Need dude ends up getting entire CIA database downloaded into his brain by accident and ends up having to become reluctant awkward spy while keeping up normal appearances with family and merry coworkers. It is pretty funny and also it has Yvonne Strahovsky in it who is smoking hot. We loved watching it together and the whole run of the show is on Netflix.

And yes to Arrested Development quotes!

If you're a Whedon fan, Buffy, Dollhouse and Firefly (+Serenity) are all on there.

There are some older British comedies such as Black Books and The Office and Blackadder, and I think the IT Crowd is also on it. They have also got some of the "Weirder" British comedies like Month Python and The Mighty Boosh.

Both seasons of the excellent Life on Mars are on there. (I think Ashes to Ashes is also on but I'm not sure and haven't seen that myself.)

If you like documentaries, there are a butt load of Louis Theroux docs to choose from, including "The Most Hated Family in America"

Whole ton of other things that look quite good but I have never watched so can't comment.

If ye are both Whedon fans, and it's on the Netflix system, then it would make more sense to go with ANGEL next. That gives you 5 more seasons worth of tv in a universe you already like.

DOLLHOUSE was a bit meh, for the first season at least. Never got to finish it. Much as it saddens me to say it seeing as i liked her as Faith the SLayer, Eliza Dushku is not a strong enough actress to carry a show in my opinion.


I would second the recommendation for CHUCK though. Good fun, and nice light entertainment, with some fine comic acting at times.

The first few seasons of WHITE COLLAR are good easy watching for a couple.

Seconding ANGEL. It has its ups and downs, but overall a pretty solid and a nice addition to the Buffy-verse.

DOLLHOUSE... ymmv... there are 2-3 sf-heavy eps that fans hold forth as the brilliance of Joss made manifest, which conveniently overlooks how very weak, silly and at times borderline offensive (to women and/or anyone with a brain) the majority of the rest of the series was.

I never could quite figure out what the show was supposed to be. Hooker of the week, conspiracy theory, or SF. It never quit managed to blend or differentiate them successfully. Whedon Vs. Fox executives is the standard excuse applied by Whedon fans. In the end, it's a watch but with the fast forward button handy.

I dunno I really liked it. Not in the same league as the rest of his stuff but I thought the concept and the way it was carried out was excellent. Yeah, Dushku got annoying at times and wasn't perhaps quite versatile enough for the role that she was meant to play, but it is only 2 seasons long and I think it is worth your time. Obviously opinions differ and you may hate it but I enjoyed it (though I guess out of all the Whedon shows I have seen it is probably in last place... Which in my eyes puts it ahead of most other shows anyway but I am a bit of a fanboy...)

Angel is not on Netflix UK. Something called "Angels of Sex" or something is, however. And no, I do not know what that is, it just appeared when I was searching for it...

About halfway through the DVR backlog of HELIX.

Whoever chose the music for this series needs his/her head examined. Is this supposed to be a comedy?

Several of the storylines are quite stupid. And here again we have the Star Wars problem - a base full of the most brilliant minds, and they all act like idiots.

I'm sticking with it since iirc this is just a one-season story, but if you're debating watching, I'm inclined to say skip it.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Thought that Twin Peaks would be a good addition to my library of shit I have watched that deserves it.

However, both me and the gf fell asleep halfway through the pilot. It's a bit... static. Gonna give it another go in days to come, of course.
Should I watch the movie first?

I doubt that watching the movie first would help matters, as it was made so much later and it won't really improve matters for the beginning (which was more about the unfolding weirdness and mystery). It you already have an idea of key points it wouldn't work as well.

I'd be curious as to how well the show would hold up, but when it came out it was so different to anything else on. Now, it would be just one of many idiosyncratic shows on smaller stations. Try and give it 3-4 episodes at least, cos if it hasn't piqued your interest by then, it doesn't deserve it.
