I wonder why they never even bothered to make Henry look like Henry in the Tudors? It was also weird that they cast Joss Stone as the supposedly notoriously ugly Anne of Cleves. There's Henry ranting about how she's so awful he can't consumate his marriage, and she's, well, not. Good series otherwise though, the guy playing Cromwell was great.
Any hope of Sons of Anarchy season 3 ever airing in the uk?
I'm liking the new Futurama at the moment - always had a soft spot for the show, and some of the latest ones have really hit the mark.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Just saw the "duckling" episode of Louie (on the FX channel). Some of the best television I have ever seen. The idea for the episode is by his (Louie CK's) six year old daughter. Airs again on 9/2 and then again on 9/11 on the FX channel.

Brilliant TV. It's incredibly meaningful as is, but if you realize that Louie actually did go on a USO tour in 2008 and that Keni Thomas on the show is the real Keni Thomas (ex-Ranger who actually went with Louie on that USO tour), the show just jumps into the stratosphere. It is every bit as transformative, visceral and true to its artistic spirit as The Wire was/is. Different format, but same impact. So much of that impact is due to Louis C.K. being very confident in not making it a "laugh every 30 seconds" experience. He's content to wait, to let things simmer and once the show is done, you realize that you're more deeply amused by that show than entire seasons worth of Two and a Half Men - which actually does get a chuckle out of me on most one liners...
However, I still think the highest points of the series thus far have been "Joan" and "Country Drive". Louie saying "40?" gave me the hardest laugh I've had all year.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Agreed. Hard to believe anything could beat the first season, but this one is doing just that. "Country Drive" and "Eddie" have been my faves, but none have let me down.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Been getting back into the sitcom _Not Going Out_, featuring two of my favourite stand-ups, Lee Mack and Tim Vine, and written by Lee Mack and others, and also featuring Miranda Hart. Lee Mack is a brilliant performer, and Tim Vine's character is excellent. I just love the one-liners
Taster of Lee Mack's comedy from his Radio Show, featuring special musical guests each week. This week, Midge Ure! http://www.youtube.c...h?v=n6gK8EPS3_U

It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

TRUE BLOOD season 4... nine eps along and shockingly, Sookie is, by far, the least interesting (and most irritating) thing about this season. I usually dislike when most of the storylines are so disconnected from each other, but frankly the less anyone else's story has to do with Sookie's plotline the better i'm liking what is otherwise a fairly enjoyable season.

Fucking True Blood... show blows. Now fucking witches?!?!? Get rid of the Tara character, please (optimally she would die a horrific, painful death). But yeah, fuck True Blood. I treat it like a porno, I DVR the episodes and then ff to all the naked parts.... finally, did mention, fuck True Blood?

I believe you did mention that, yes. Thanks.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

How unfortunate that there isn't an easily accesible source of massive amounts of free porn that would spare you all that time, effort and True Blood-induced suffering.

Andy Whitfield (39) died of cancer.
For those who, like me, think Andy who?: he was Spartacus in season 1 of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which was a fairly decent watch.

So how come none of your Brits told me about how absolutely stellar and addicting DOWNTON ABBEY is? Man what a great show!

Comedy Central will air the Roast of Charlie Sheen beginning Monday, September 19th. It should be good for a few chuckles.
