Haven't seen it but Severance is supposed to be really good.

Yes. Bit cheesy / predictable in a few pivotal places but still works. Overall very good, nice surprises....
I started watching Apple TV about two months ago when I realized my free year was almost up.
The WeCrashed miniseries is worth watching, though ymmv. I'm not particularly interested in WeWork, except insofar as it shows poor judgment on the part of venture capital in general and Softbank in particular, but it was interesting and entertaining (at least verging on satire...).
What I've watched of See and Roar has been underwhelming---interesting concepts, some nice cinematography and decent acting, scripts... meh.
'The Problem with Jon Stewart' isn't nearly as funny as The Daily Show (and when he does 'tell jokes' they're usually not particularly good), or as informative as Last Week Tonight (or... reading). He does do a good job of letting other people talk and not centering himself. It's hard to watch, and frequently dull. But worth forcing yourself to watch.
Watch the Sound is okay---each show focuses on a different aspect of music (for example: reverb, autotune, distortion, drum machines), which is included in the description. Not nearly as informative as a good online course, more like entertainment for a general audience.
As far as movies go---Wolfwalkers starts out seeming excessively childish (for most adults at least), but ends up being very good.
Coda overall was a little underwhelming for a Best Picture (Oscar) winner, but still very good and unusually memorable, with some great moments. Definitely worth watching. (Though the singing isn't all that impressive.)
Herzog's documentary Fireballs (on meteorites and human culture)---interesting, probably would have been better if more had been omitted (or relegated to extras), some interesting images and footage of some interesting places. Herzog's philosophizing is okay. Not great, maybe worth watching. Might help put you to sleep.

I watched all of Minx season 1 (HBO Max). Not a masterpiece, but pretty decent. It's on like the same wavelength as GLOW, so it can be lightly cartoony sometimes, but is mostly a fun ride.

That show is excellent and doesn't get enough credit for being as good as it is.
The Japanese storyline is my favourite, and Joel De La Fuente's role as Chief Inspector Takeshi Kido, playing off of Cary-Hyroyuki Tagawa's Tagomi is the highlight of the whole series.

Finished S1. It was terrifyingly interesting but not great. I hope it wasn’t the best the series has to offer. Ep 10 was on a whole different lvl to 1-9 atleast as I was certainly on the edge of my seat. I have started S2 and I had to pause just now on the cold open at the world map sight. Fuck me.
Could not see Australia on it though. That pledge….*shudder

Is it still possible to keep up with the Cardasheeins? Or is that no longer possible?

Reminds me of Akira for some reason. Maybe the art style?

Looked up the book and it’s really short. Also see the show makes a few changes to characters. I think I may look into it next time I go to the store. Finally saw Australia map and it looked like I imagined it would.

Got to S2 Ep 10. This is the 2nd time this show has done this where it’s just kind of an okish to good ep 1-9 then an utterly insane pulse pounding thriller of a finish.

Conversely, I've found it to be nothing but stellar and can't wait to watch the finale tonight!
I'm serious, this is probably may second fave D+ show after MANDO, it's everything I wanted from an Obi-Wan show....and I would not be upset if they decided to make it more than a limited series and give us another season.

It seems to be TLJ of + to me. I hate everything about this fucker after moving away from ep 1 where I had some feels seeing familiar faces. By ep 3 I was full onboard the nope train. I will not ever watch this bitch again after the original view.
After this shoddy shit and Boba train wreck and HR even hearing about a Cal show is Meh. More excitement for the game.

Tried giving the first episode of For All Mankind a chance after reading a very positive review---wow, it is... not good. I don't usually mind slow-paced series, but this was so boring... acting ranges from bad to mediocre, writing is extremely cheesy. Hinges on trying to milk feelings of patriotism, anti-Communism etc. that idgaf about. Does nothing to make the subject matter or social relations even remotely interesting. I'll give it a few more episodes....

Finished The Essex Serpent---liked this much more than I was expecting... except for the ending. Loved the song in iirc episode 2, and the
Spoiler
, though they could have been developed much more. Overall not really my cup of meat, but managed to be engrossing and (on reflection) mildly interesting.

Okay, we need to talk about The Boys.
I've never seen the show but I've read great things and want to get around to it eventually. But there are things, *ahem* odd things, that I've been skimming over of late regarding the show. (1) What's up with right-wing, ultra conservative, borderline white nationalist types being upset with the show about the reveal of a specific character? and (2) Herogasm. What up? They ran out of fake jizz because there was so much?
Now understand, I watch Euphoria, so nothing I find is more shocking than that as far as deviancy and sexual explictness. So, I'm wondering if this is just a hook to get more to watch?
