Save the cheerleader, save the world. Awesome show.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

1st season was one of the best I've ever seen. Then the writers strike happened and the quality went downhill very quickly as they tried to work around it.
I never finished it.

Yep, agreed. I think I gave up early series 3, but remember really enjoying the first series.
Without scrolling up are you talking about Heroes?
That show had the best first season, and it could have been the best show on TV ever.
Yes. It was such a fantastic premise and a great cast. Shame it ended the way it did.

Ok, here's another one, and this one could be triggering because it involves 'he who shouldn't be named'.
Dollhouse. Is it worth checking out? This totally escaped my radar when it initially aired. I see it aired for only 2 seasons. Not sure if that was by intention, or the show sucked and was cancelled, or the show was good, has cult following status but never caught on more broadly and so was cancelled.

YMMV but I really enjoyed Dollhouse I know quite a few on here didn't. Also it got canceled quite early on so the second season feels pretty rushed but the story is told, such as it is.

I watched Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which I think aired around the same time and on the same network? So it's strange that I didn't watch one episode of Dollhouse. I really enjoyed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles btw.

Another show that escaped my viewing was 24. I get the feeling that it is of a specific time and may not land as well in 2021. Is it worth giving a try?

Lost is better.
I enjoyed it when it was on.

I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Oh dang I utterly LOVED 24 it was my ultimate show for years but it has been a long time since I've seen it. May not hold up but I remember being completely hooked every single episode!

Teaser for the new show from the folks behind Dark. I'm already hyped.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

You just reminded me that I forgot to watch season 3 of Dark. I must rectify this mistake.
What do you guys suppose this is? Spooky Titanic Alternative History Story?

I just watched the middle season double episode of X-files season 2. It's so bad. So, so bad. And I remember really loving it as a teen.
It's the one where the Alien Bounty Hunter is introduced. Weird cheek bones guy from Terminator 1. Which is cool but everything about the plot is just stupid.
I'll put this in a spoiler block:

I watched the first episode of Jupiter's Legacy with Josh Duhamel last night. I have read the source material several years ago, but don't really remember it.
There is a kernel of greatness buried here — threads of an engaging story, an interesting mystery unfolding in the dual-timeline narrative, and potentially some good intergenerational drama. Unfortunately, the absolutely dreadful fight scenes (like they took all the wrong things from Snyder's style), the forced important conversations, the poor pacing, and awkward dialogue hold it back.
Josh as Utopian looks real badass though. Sufficiently Ozymandian-meets-Jupiterian in his "I am king of the heroes and I am suffering, I look on my legacy and despair as it doesn't live up to my ideal" way. I'll keep watching eventually, but there are better shows...
Like The Watch, the Night Watch adaptation, RIGHT? RIGHT?
Just kidding, I heard that was so bad that it released without a peep in January, aside from disparaging comments from both Rihanna Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Oh well.

I took one look at Josh Duhamel in the trailer for Jupiter's Legacy and noped out. He looks like a homeless senior in a super suit.

Watched the first episode of Mare of Easttown. Slow burn (and sorta too much so). There's enough to have me back (I usually try to give a show 3-4 episodes before I make a decision to bail out).
Kate Winslet is going HAM on the accent, but kind of distractedly so because she emphasizes it big time for obvious words - e.g. door and overdoses (like the sound when saying Uber, so like "uverdoses"). But then her dialog is neutral the rest of the time (it seems to me anyway). I can even detect her natural British coming through at times (subtle, but if you pay attention you can hear it sometimes). In Episode 1 she leans in hard with the Philly accent in the first scene though. I guess they were really attempting to make that a feature to put people in the setting? dunno. Anyway, the episode ends such that I want to watch the 2nd episode. Will keep going and hope it picks up.

I'm watching the animated Invincible TV-show on Amazon Prime.
I've never read the comic but the show seems good. Not sure how close the adaption is to the comic but it's got an interesting style. It seems part meta commentary on superheroes told in a light humorous style but also horrifically, violently brutal and bloody.

Tried a few new shows with the wife last night.
JUPITER'S LEGACY: I have the comic, but less for Millar than for Quitely's art...the story was meh at best. The tv show amped up the hokeyness, and it was not for us.
STARTUP: Holy shit this was bad. We noted that Adam Brody and Martin Freeman (both of whom we like as actors) were in it, so we checked it out. Watched 20-ish minutes of the first episode in which there were THREE sex scenes. It's not like we are prudes, but only Sex scene 1 was plot-contingent, the other two were gratuitous nonsense. And if you spend almost half of the first 20 of your pilot episode on needless sex scenes, then I don't know what the fuck your show is about. We turned it off. Awful.
THE CIRCLE: This is some trashy reality show about faking or making an online persona for others in a game show manner and be the most popular? We gave it ten minutes (wife likes this kind of TV normally; not I)....and bailed.
Ended up back on SUPERSTORE which is slice of life, not terribly funny, but still entertaining TV.
There's shit all on Netflix right now. SHADOW & BONE was it.
