The crazy thing about Hercules and Xena was that the longer the show ran, the better the episodes got (As far as I remember). That stuff about the Roman Empire and Christianity and Nordic Mythology emerging was really promising.

Agreed. The norse stuff especially was fantastic!

I only watched it scattershot, but i recall thinking the time jump and Cesar thing was a bad idea and being pleasantly surprised.

The time jump was due to Lawless's pregnancy. They worked her pregnancy into the show during S5 (Eve) but after the birth (off screen, of her son Julius...yes she and Tapert named their kid Julius), they needed the show to allow for Eve to not be in the picture as a baby, so the show jumps 25 years to age her up.

As I recall the benefit of the time jump is that the world has largely moved on from Greek Gods, and Christianity has become big...so you can have this storyline of these two amazing warrior women from a different time, trying to sort out their place in a world that has forgotten them. We will see if it holds up when I get there.

Ash vs Evil Dead.

Watched season 3 (the final season). It probably is a good thing that the show got cancelled. Season 3 seemed to stray a lot and started getting 'loosey-goosey' with the lore, which is a sign they were running out of ideas. But how that last episode ends though? amirite? I kinda wanted to see where they were going to take it. It was bonkers.

Damn though, the show brings it when it comes to unique (and disgusting) ways for Ash to fight the demons - ex. fighting that nurse demon at the sperm bank. Posted ImagePosted Image. And don't even ask me to attempt describing when little demon spawn, toddler Ash performed a 'reverse pregnancy' and crawled inside a large Norwegian woman. Yes, they took it there. Ahhhh, and the demon head in that industrial paint mixing machine. Oh, and the show has to be tailor designed for blood fetishists, because the makeup effects sure does take pride in fantastical ways to spatter blood all over the place and everyone within the 'splash zone'.Posted Image

Well, sorta bummed to see it go I guess. There's talk they will continue the story in a video game. Doubt I would be interested in that.

If it is any good?! Dear gods man, what rock have you lived under? It is a TV rendition of one of the greatest books in modern fantasy history! Lock your doors, close the curtains, disconnect your phone and binge watch it to bits. It is a must see. Everything else can wait.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

I’m seeing ads for an Amazon show called Good Omens that starts tomorrow. I don’t have this active. Didn’t plan on it till S4 of The Expanse so if any of you stunningly glorious fucks check this out and it’s any good then do let me know. I may activate sooner.

Yep, Gorefest has the right of it.

We will be starting it tonight! So excited! Wonder what the tribute to Terry will be.

*drools*

Thank goodness they've kept true to the design and look of the original Dark Crystal film. This looks awesome. So much win.

Agreed.

I think the only mild stumbling block is it's a prequel, so we know how things end up....but I'm still jazzed AF to watch it!

Looks very well done. I'll be watching it.

I hate to admit it, but I fell asleep watching episode 1 last night. I also found the book to be "ok."

Last night? I thought it only came out today?

I won't hesitate to admit that there is a large part 'youth sentiment' in this, because I first read the book in my early teens when I started to discover fantasy (early nineties) and Good Omens made a massive impression on me at the time. Ever since then, I've been waiting for some sort of adaptation and there have been endless teases but no actual follow-through on that. So I will happily accept that the series will not be the next Game of Thrones or Stranger things. But with Neil Gaiman as the screenplay writer and the assembled cast it is bound to be at least decent+ and it will finally satiate my childhood longings.

Can someone post a trailer for the show up please? I only saw like a 10 sec clip with "Under Pressure" playing. I'd look myself but I'm trying to avoid seeing spoilers from other stuff randomly.

Fucking search trackers.

All episodes should be available in one go.

Thanks. So does Amazon do the Netflix thing and dump the entire thing day 1 or go weekly?

I was going to say the same thing, pretty much. Everything about this trailer looks fantastic though. I got rid of Netflix earlier this year, but this, ST3, and When They See Us are giving me good enough reasons to sign back up for at least a few months.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

There is virtually zero CGI, aside from green screen, in that entire trailer.
