Killjoys ep 7 fantastic! Also Amanda Tapping guess starred. Dark Matter ep 8 also great. The Star Wars 36 comment had me loln. Idk what year these shows take place and I still think they maybe connected. That ending on Dark was an oh shit moment.

I didn't even realize that was Tapping! She was good in it.

Yep and David Hewlet was on Dark a few weeks ago so that's 2 SG cast so far.

Yeah, I remember that. Amanda Tapping actually directed that same episode.

Here is a good few minutes of reason why Trevor Noah's Daily Show is going to rule.

Started watching Gotham cos it's on Netflix UK now. Unsure what to make of it. I mean the setting is obviously one I know and love and it is fun seeing the characters as younger people. But... the script is clunky and awkward and most of the acting is pretty naff. Jada Pinkett Smith is particularly bad but no one has struck me as being brilliant. However, we're only 4 episodes in and it's overall enjoyable. The Penguin has been the best so far and I also like Edward Nigma whenever he is on. I can't take the mayor seriously cos I know him from Scrubs but I like him regardless. I also like Don Moroni - was he the guy from Dexter?

It's dumb as hell, but in a very weird off kilter way.

I saw the pilot for Minority Report today. I thought it was serviceable, but really nothing special and certainly nothing we haven't seen before. A SciFi crime show based on the 2002 movie with Tom Cruise of the same name, this show focuses on one of the twin precogs who's all grown up now and basically wants to prevent murders. He does this with his police detective partner making it a crime-fighting duo.

Like I said, nothing we haven't seen before. The sets are believable, I mean, I'd buy that our culture doesn't change that much in 40-50 years, so that works. CGI is certainly good enough for TV, so no complaints there. It's just that this show is, like I've said, nothing we haven't seen before, and certainly nothing we haven't seen better before. Person of Interest comes to mind, and I highly doubt that Minority Report will even come close to reach that level of quality. Oh, and in terms of crime-fighting duo SciFi, I still hold that the cancellation of Almost Human was a mistake and I'll be surprised if this show will be just as good.

That's not to say I didn't like it, as I mentioned first, it was serviceable and entertaining enough so I'll be watching it when it officially airs.

Later tonight I'll watch the pilot for Lucifer. Urgh, another show with a crime-fighting duo, the twist here being that one of them is the devil himself.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

MINORITY REPORT works best as what it was...a cautionary tale for the idea of "prophecy" and mingling that with corruption. The straight ahead narrative of "stopping crimes before they happen" was never the most interesting macguffin in the film...which is why it's good the overarching story wasn't about that. Also the film spent an INORDINATE amount of time telling us that Agatha (Precog Numero Uno) could not STAND doing what she did, and how traumatic it was for her to live those "future events" every day...that we are meant to buy that Arthur and Dash are not only okay with being close to the society that amplifies their precognitions (Agatha ends the movie in seclusion FAR away from anyone so she doens't have to live under torturous thoughts 24/7) but that they would seek it out? I dunno man, it's hard to buy that.

Loved the film. Unsure about the series...though I WILL give it a shot.

It's based on a movie that stared Tom Cruise and he is SO HOT RIGHT NOW!

...that's basically the entire pitch right there.

I'm SO sceptical about this show.

It can't possibly draw but the flimsiest of things from the source material, and previews suggest they're mostly playing for camp. Campy supernatural police procedural.

YAAAAWN.

But hey, given SLEEPY HOLLOW's impeding demise, maybe there's a hole to be filled.

Actually, it was pretty funny. Sure, the detective-cop-crime part of the show was as generic as they come, but the lucifer character and people's reactions to him was actually pretty funny. I'll give this show a thumbs up, at least for now.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I'm still hoping that they can pull that show out of the toilet/tailspin in the 3rd season...but it's not a big hope. Basically as long as it focuses down on what makes it so good (Ichie and Abbie friendship) the rest can fall into place. Which does sound like what FOX is aiming for for Season 3.

Just watched the pilot for BLINDSPOT. yet another mystery/crime procedural.

A bit of prison break, blacklist and that fbi thing that Kevin Bacon was in. Has a big gimmick to start things off, after which it's fairly by the numbers stuff to be honest. But, I've seen a lot worse, and I'll definitely give it a few episodes to see if it settles into a decent groove.

But they better have a number of epsiodes and an endpoint in mind, or this will definitely turn to shit. Nice to see the guy from Strike Back get a lead role in something else (and the penny only dropped now that the lead actress is Jaimie Alexander, or 'The Lady Sif' from Thor).

Anyone else watch it?

Killjoys episode 9 was damn good. There was a lot of stuff hinting at much broader interstellar storylines to come, so I'm really excited for that. This show gets better with each episode, and I really hope it gets renewed.

If you pull the "s" out of the linkage it usually works. Et Voila.

That Oliver segment was so good. The seed faith stuff is like the most bottom dwelling scheme around.

Yeah, that was a hilarious episode. The ending with Z-Pack and his co-pilot had me cracking up.
