Second and thirding LUTHER.

It's aces, and Idris Elba is the MAN!

Really enjoyed LUTHER. Thought season one was patchy but overall really good (some of the supporting actors weren't great, but the interplay between LUTHER and ALICE was great).
Season 2 was excellent. pity it was so short.
Season 3 was decent, but they could have done better with ALICE's character in my opinion.

If Idris Elba chooses his next few roles wisely, he could be huge. I think he could easily do roles ranging from action hero movie to thoughtful dramas, and probably a rom-com too.

I just watched the finale of Enlisted. It aired last week, but I put it off out of sadness and frustration. And man, that was an A+ season/series finale. Show was something special -- not perfect, not every joke or even episode landed, but remarkably solid overall with great characters and several very high high points. Can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it again in actual production order instead of the royally screwed up order FOX aired it in. Personally I liked it even more than B99, though I'm not suggesting that'd be true of most other viewers.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Binge-watching GRIMM. About 2/3 through the latest season. Really solid so far, and I like that they're giving the whole cast stuff to do. You have to give the showrunners credit for continuous improvement.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

The lady and I are a big fan of stuff like BBC's Planet Earth and Life. Anyone have some other glorious HD nature porn to recommend?

If you like those, there is also FROZEN PLANET...and then thew DisneyNature films AFRICAN CATS, CHIMPANZEE (both good and enjoyable), and the new one BEARS...and I think next year is MONKEY KINGDOM.

All done by Alastair Fothergill like PLANET EARTH and LIFE.

Pretty much all the standing shows that DISCOVERY WORLD HD shows are nature porn and worth a look at the channels website to see a great lineup.

If animal cruelty and seeing drunk/hungover tourists getting trampled is your thing, the Esquire Network is airing The Running of the Bulls live (midnight in my time zone). Today was day 3.

Not really my thing, but I will say I do get a smidgen of satisfaction when I see some idiot get plowed over by a bull. I don't know a whole lot about the tradition, but it seems to me the event is way over crowded now with tourists. I know the event has become romanticized and is a popular "bucket list" achievement for a lot of people.

Anyone see the first episode of Extant? It was decent and show has potential.

Thomas Jane has been cast as Miller in the Expanse tv series. Great choice!

Watched the opening 1 1/2 hr episode of Guillermo Del Toro's THE STRAIN (a book series which I read as well) and so far it's translated extremely well.

It's amusing to know that THE STRAIN was essentially birthed out of Del Toro's need to explore the Reaper vampires that he created for BLADE II in much more depth. The effects on them are pretty damned good, and FX has done an admirable job of the first ep being compelling throughout.

Will be continuing to watch.

I saw this, thought it was pretty good. It did seem a tad predictable, and I would have preferred a little more mystery as to the true nature of the monster. Will be watching again though
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

It really is the Dracula story retold and mixed up with a plague story and BLADE II hunters/warriors. I mean the Dracula analogies are down to a T...So there is a lot about it that is generic...but I think the execution makes it fun.

Plus it's got the extremely creepy vibe down pat.

I watched the Amazon exclusive "Bosch" with Titus Welliver (Man in Black from Lost), Jaime Hector (Marlo from The Wire) and a few others.

It didn't go anywhere unusual, but it seems to be decently executed and positioned to do well.

Also tore through Playing House, the comedy on USA. Hilarious stuff again and again. Great guest cast as well, with Lindsey Sloane and Keegan-Michael Peele being particularly tremendous. "Get on the get!"
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I just watched Fargo. It was great. Honestly I liked it better than the movie. Billy Bob Thorton is dark and cool and strange, just like Billy Bob should be. If you at all enjoyed the movie check the show. t isn't a retelling of the same story, it is a different story with some ideas and characters clearly influenced by the movie, and there is a key tie in showing that both stories happened, the show is not intended to replace the movie.

The wife and I have been blitzing through VERONICA MARS on Netflix. Into Season 2 now. I had no idea this show was this good. I can see why everyone went so bananas for it.
