Holy face melting guitar solos! There's a new season of Metalocalypse currently running on Adult Swim/Cartoon Network! I did not know that! The episodes are back to being 15 min. long, which is a good thing because when they tried 30 min. episodes it just didn't work as well. Damn, I'm gonna have to try and catch up with the episodes I missed. ::sadface::

Was quite disappointed with several of the season finale's last week for some reason (even Person of Interest). Despite either wrapping up storylines, or setting things up for next season, most felt quite perfunctory rather than thrilling. You know a good season finale when you have either a feeling of satisfaction at how things turned out, or a burning desire to immediately start the next episode.

Haven't got to see the season finale of GRIMM yet so i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

On a different note, I am currently half way through the Danish crime series, THE BRIDGE, which is made by the same people that did the original Danish series, "The Killing". As I haven't seen "The Killing", I can't really comment on how good it was, but I'm loving "The Bridge" so far. Curious to see if this will also get the American remake treatment.

Tonight is the series finale of House. The first hour will be a retrospective, followed by the last episode. *sadface*

It's good! Would give it a solid A because it finally got to a couple lingering issues and snapped almost everything into believability.

Also the AV Club reviewer has a serious case of Buffy-fanboy-itis and has been steadily hating on this show for a while now. It's fairly obvious that he's seeing the complex stuff, but doesn't have any patience for not getting the answers and has little appreciation for what the show has been successfully able to do.

Monroe and Rosalee work very well together and it's truly nice to not make the Trailer the magical fount of answers every single time. The Grimms don't give a crap about potions and real magic, they want to kill stuff, so that's what it's for - ID It and How To Make It Ded. Yes, Ded, instead of Dead.

I do wish they'd made Kimura run away instead of meeting his end, but we still have the link to the Dragon's Tongue, so they can spew forth more characters.

What they did with Farley Kolt off-screen is kind of nice. It's not exactly definitive what happened to him, so if Titus Welliver has time off from his other show, he can still hit a nice guest spot.

Overall, I like this far, far better than OUaT.

Definitely planning to tune in. I lost interest a while ago but watched last week's just to see how it all ends, and it was really good. Not sure why they feel the need to do a retrospective though. Personally I would rather have had a 2-hour finale.

Now that this has finished I'll get thew whole season and give it a proper go...if partly because the showrunners were talking about moving it away from straight up police procedural in Season 2 and getting to some of the meat behind the scenes and the "people who run the show" arcs in their world kind of stuff. It really sounds interesting.

Just watched The Pacific in like one sitting. Its good but no where near as good as Band of Brothers. Maybe its because I prefer the European theatre of war or wasnt a fan of the more psychological edge in this one that reminded me of Platoon, Apocalypse now or even Jarhead with the emphasis on dehumanising the enemy. I think I preferred the voice over of some key menbers of Easy Company in Band of Brothers too.

Anyway still worth a watch with the battle scenes being bigger but still not as good as BoB

Indeed. I always look at the PACIFIC as reminding me just how GOOD BoB was. Man, that was an excellent show!

I just watched it a couple months ago, and agree. Can't believe they wasted a whole episode on downtime in Australia, and also that like 75% of the characters sucked. Almost had me rooting against the US.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Yeah, I really wanted to like THE PACIFIC, but the writing and actors kinda sucked. For example, I think Sledge in real life was a lot more interesting and sympathetic than he was portrayed in the show. Either the actor couldn't pull it off, or he was just not written well.

Still, the night battle at Guadalcanal and the landing at Peleliu...wow.

Anyway, finally finished off the season finales of GRIMM, OUAT, and SMASH. SMASH meh, OUAT meh, GRIMM good.

Now starting the backlog of AWAKE. The pilot was interesting, though I'm not sure how well they can sustain this concept. Seeing Laura Innes in a preview of the coming episode did not inspire confidence.

Was almost going to delete my backlog of THE RIVER, but I heard Netflix might pick up Season 2, so I am saving it.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

THE RIVER was consistently good (to me), and ended REALLY strongly (which is why I can't understand why they didn't pick it up for a second season), so it is certainly worth your watch.

There's a new show started called "Continuum" It's about a cop from the future who ends up in present day and has to chase bad guys from her future. We're talking about serious bad guys here.

It's only just begun, but it didn't look half bad.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Me and the ole lady have been watching "White Collar" on Netflix. A USA network show. Its about a criminal forger/conman type helping an FBI agent instead of being in prison. Pretty entertaining, i'm about 1/2 way through season 1 and enjoying it.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I have to say I came across White Collar by accident in my local library, and was very pleasantly surprised. Fairly light fare, but the 2 main leads are a good duo, and some of the supporting characters are good fun. Nice easy viewing. The next season begins in about a months time i believe.

Am playing catch-up on a few shows now, but i'll be out of things to watch pretty soon by the looks of it. Might try nd track down the original Danish TV series "The Killing" to see if it is any good.

Whereas i had to force myself to watch a few more eps, skipped ahead to the finale, ff'd most of it and deleted the backlog. The show came down to contrivance and screaming as replacement for effects, and whining about daddy issues as replacement for plot. FFS the 'hero' was saved by the power of love. Fail. I really really tried, but no go for me.

On the other hand, i utterly enjoyed the PERSONS OF INTEREST finale. Brought a bunch of plot threads together, everyone had a moment to shine (except Elias), some great twists (i swear
Spoiler
) and a killer of an ending with set-up for next season almost but not quite confirming my running suspicion all season that there was more to the surveillance clips than was obvious.

You know, I actually think I saw that back in the day, but I can't be sure. It does ring a bell. In any case, that's it been done before shouldn't be an indictment against the new Continuum. We should let it stand on its own merits.

But damn, those Australians sure did make a lot of shows back then. I especially liked Spellbinder and Escape from Jupiter. I suppose that Ocean girl show was sort of okay too...
