The second we met wheelchair guy and he said he knew stuffabout ZFT, i said "that guy is SO dead by the end of the ep.". But the videotape was a nice touch. I liked the venereal disease spinal fluid vampire virus idea, plus the notionthat the ZFTs are doing crazy shit just to show that they can. It was painfully obvious spinepire chick was going to wake up and try to eat Olivia or Peter but it was sort of fun to sit there and wait for it.

Anyone find Baldo this time? pretty sure i spotted him in the club at the beginning

In ratings news, maybe its the American Idol lead in, but Fringe is clobbering everything in its time slot and top 20 week after week, so second season is a lock. Yay!

which also means we are going to get SO FUCKED by a cliffhanger season finale it's not even funny how bad they are going to mess with us.

Ok, def not the season finale last night. Great ep though. They're really getting on the parallel dimension, "there are two of everything" kick now.

Agent Harris got barbecued! Yay! Walter seems oddly calm when Baldo comes for him, almost hypnotized. At least he left the manuscript where the others could find it. So, is Dunham the one who travels through dimensions, not Peter? Or what is happening to her?

Tho the A-plot about saving pyrokine girl was pretty similar to the 'save radiation gun in her head girl' and 'save i hear evil radio guy' episodes.

I thought the way they did Olivia's parallel universe visions was really good - the two bodies and the Broyle's office switch were subtle.

SO glad Harris got bbq'd. His plotline had really gone as far as it needed to go, and showing that ZFT has penetrated Homeland Security was a nice touch.

All the little hints about the Observer, Bell and ZFT were great. Peter and Walter shined in this ep. Olivia was Olivia - her dramatic range is a bit limitted but it works for the character.

Did anyone spot Baldo during the first spontaneous combustion? I kept thinking he'd show up but didn't watch closely.

So psyched and depressed about the finale - they are going, to HANG us, i am so sure.

I was slightly dissatisfied with the scene where Olivia confronts Walter in the restaurant. Why confront him there and then? Why make sure Peter wasn't there? Plus the manner in which it was done seemed a little out of character for Olivia, IMO. My initial reaction was that it was Olivia from the other dimension who had done it, but they didn't even show the possibilitiy that that was the case, so I guess that theory is out of the window.

I do feel like this show lacks a little in consistency of characterisation - there have been quite a few times when I've felt the characters were being portrayed somewhat differently to how they had been set up in previous episodes. But the ZFT stuff is compelling and interesting enough for me to keep watching for another season.

That's EXACTLY what I thought! And I don't think it is necessarily ruled out just because it wasn't explored further. Let's see if they drop more clues down the road.

Well another show leaves us for the summer. The finale wasn't as chock full of awesome as I hoped it would be. Still, I enjoyed it. Would have liked to have seen Nimoy for more than 90 seconds! We did finally learn Peter's secret, though. I didn't see that one coming.

I didn't see that coming with Peter. Wondering if Peter is the reason that Bell is in the other side. To make the transfer did Bell have to stay behind. Was the plan originally for Walter to run the company from here and for Bell to run it from there. Also if that Peter is here were is That Walter did our walter kill him if not then were is he?


I liked the finally.

Except for the first and last seven minutes or so, this was only a so-so episode.

The whole chasing after Jones as he opens universe doors was somewhat bleh.

Shame really, because the ep started strong with freaky robot arm woman being

shot and all, but Jones just didn't come across as much of a threat and his

whole 'open a dimension door and cut things in half' bit was probably the least

cool fringe science threat we've seen, tho still better than eaglesnakewasp

thingy. Walter and the Observer's whole 'find the gadget' quest thing was

nothing special - wouldn't a few bullets into Jones' machines have had the same

effect as the remote control? Tho i wonder if the pint wasn't the remote but

rather the coin. And the whole bit with Olivia shooting Jonesas he stumbles

towards the gate was just... weak. Lacked tension.

But those last two

reveals, those were AWESOME. The grave explained a lot about some of the hints

we've seen in the past that Walter did 'something' to Peter. And the closing

shot of the Towers was just awesome. It's interesting that we've reached a point

where that image has become acceptable in fiction again. Unfortunate that last

week's promo basically had the entire Bell scene in it. For all of three

minutes, Nimoy didn't really have a chance to have much of an

impact.

Also, the newpaper headline in Bell's office was a nice touch -

"new White House" and "former Pres Kennedy..."... clever.

Anyrate, i'm satisfied with this as a conclusion to a solid first season and looking fwd to more FRINGE next year.
