BAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

More to the point, I'm not going to watch the entire film again just to see 10 seconds of footage;)

I guess I gotta see this movie. Tony Stark is a pretty good character as far as super heroes go...with the alcoholism and womanizing...I just don't like machine "super" heroes usually...except for Transformers of course :D

Saw it this afternoon, it totally kicks ass. Downey is playing the role he was born to play. Oh, and having children has affected Paltrow in a good way - she now has actual hips and buttocks. And the scene after the credits. OMFG was that awesome and I am being totally serious.

It's been a couple of days. You should be able to find an illegal camera recording of the ending on Youtube by now.

Watched it tonight. Finally a working adaptation for Marvel since...X-Men 2. Downey really is perfect for the role, and it was nice to see Jeff Bridges is still acting.

I wonder which movie will be made first, The Avengers or The Justice League by DC...

Just saw it aswell. Damn it was good. I'd caught all the praise... or at least satisfied expectations from people so I was expecting it to be good, but didn't want to get my hopes up. It was EXCELLENT.

They actually used his original creation story, which was mighty cool. Sort of disappointed they didn't throw in a hint of a secret asian backer called "mandarin"... just as a nod to the old Ironman comics, but oh well.

The story was good. Like mentioned above, it was on track, seemingly following the same recipe of Batman Begins and it was done very well. All the CGI and special effects were superb, it all looked real to me. The characters were great and Jeff Bridges has now earned a place on my list of favorite superhero bad guys.

They only complaint I have is the amount of action compared to the length of the film. We get three real action scenes... four counting the opening assault, that's it. I mean, you didn't really miss it, but come on. What they should have done was cut the crap about Iron Man being low on juice, or at least not that low to begin with, and extended the last battle five to ten minutes. We didn't get nearly enough destruction and mayhem.
I was expecting something like the ending of Transformers and instead we got a year 2008 version of the ending of Robocop 2. Not that Robocop 2 wasn't awesome... I just wanted MORE!

EDIT: When Big Boy robot suit turned on it's rocket boosters I nearly wet my pants, that's how awesome that was.

You mean naming the terrorist organisation "The Ten Rings" wasn't enough? :D

It wasn't THAT important, but it was a big hint at the Upcoming Avengers project.

They did make a movie. Maybe even two, I can't remember... they weren't that great.

The problem is, what kind of film are you going to make about a superhero that's really fast?

Speaking of an AVENGERS movie, it looks like Marvel really wants to get it up and running. According to the magical IMDB, Marvel productions have a number of titles listed as in production.
There is another HULK (2008) movie, another SPIDERMAN (2009), and there are also listings for CAPTAIN AMERICA (2009), THOR (2009), ANT MAN (2010), NICK FURY (2010), and a specific AVENGERS (2009) project. Those were their scheduled production dates.

But I've since seen tentative dates of May 2010 for Captain America and July 2011 for the Avengers movie. I guess the writers strike kinda screwed up their timetables too, and I'm guessing the scheduling for all the stars to be present for an Avengers movie will make it pretty drawn out production.

Plus there are other Marvel characters in production but it's questionable whether they would try and tie them in to the Avengers storyline (i.e The X-Men Spin-offs, Wolverine, Magneto).

I'm really looking forward to seeing how they approach the THOR movie, cos he could be absolutely badass if they do it like the Avengers Disassembled graphic novel.

Wolverine has only recently joined the Avengers, and even then I think he's an on and off character. Beast and Quicksilver on the other hand were a part of the Avengers for a long time.

A thor movie will be interesting. I just really hope they stay away from that stuff about him having to pose as a crippled doctor on earth. Just let it be thor kicking ass for two hours, preferably fighting Loke.
