I thought it was pretty good. They did the origin story well, and it has fantastic scope for taking the character forward from here. Unlike Apt, I didn't find there was too little action. But i did think the acting and script could have been a bit sharper in places.
I was worried about how this would turn out, but now I'm happy and really looking forward to a sequel. Which should be quickly in the making due to the opening weekend success.

And speaking of movie tie-ins.....

It was fucking brilliant I thought.

My hopes werent so high, as I love Iron Man so much and the casting seemed so good that I didnt think they could possibly live up to expectations- just like Rise of the Silver Surfer.

But it was awesome. Witty (I love those robot arms), exciting, yet small enough in scope to let the story build next time out.

Plus the Samuel L. Fury "Avengers" hint at the end made me cream my pants. Cant wait for the Avengers film to come out.:D

I went and saw it today, and it was a lot better than I was expecting. Since I was expecting it to kick ass, I was very pleased.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Iron Man was awesome.

I'm stoked for the sequels and other hero movies leading up to an epic "Avengers" flick.

I burst out laughing at the very opening when he chatting up the soldiers, the female soldier makes a remark and he exclaims: "God God! You're a woman!"

I saw it last night. I know nothing about the comics or the character, but it was great. RDJr must have spent quite some time in a gym (or on steroids!). The plot was perfectly pitched for a bigger sequel which I am very much looking forward to.

To be fair, DareDevil was shit in the comics, so the film was an accurate portrayal. :D

Gonna go see Iron Man again at the weekend! W00t! :p

Watched it this weekend. The action was good, but watching Downey and whats-her-face pretend they can act just makes me so meh.

Saw it. Liked it. Totally good big hollywood fun. The extra little comic geek hints were fun to spot, but overall just good silly entertainment. I forgive RDJr his Ally McBeal phase now.

The War Machine hint was great. The after-credits bit was even greater, albeit a total comics in joke and god bless Samuel Jackson for agreeing to do it.

- Abyss, wants a suit like that but will settle for one of the sweet cars...
