I agree with you, I've never understood people's obsession with going to see a movie at the premier. It's overcrowded and noisy and if you do manage to get the ticket it's often in a crappy place, like at the bottom and way out on the side.

Well I never thought of it as seeing it at the premier... I always thought of it as seeing a movie I really wanted to see as soon as possible...

though that being said...

back in the land of movie theaters I would hardly ever see a movie on a Friday release... thats my drunk/crazy/sex/halo time.... I usually watched movies between Saturday afternoon/night to Sunday afternoon.

Well I'm not going on my own.

Having said that, I was on the Vue cinema website picking our seats for Thursday, and there was more than one seat booked all on their lonesome. So I suppose going to the cinema on your own isn't as weird as I would feel if I did it.

I generally see films on my own. I find that it means you don't have to work to ignore the inane questions coming from the seat next to you.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. I like being in a movie theatre with a roomful of people who are probably as excited about the movie as I am ;)

Watching it on thursday. I can't believe the wait is almost over

I hardly ever go to the cinema on your own. There's no one to have the same post-cinema chit-chat with...
"What did you think?"
"Yeah, it was ok/awesome/utter bovine residue. How about you?"
"My drink had too much ice in it..."

War-Machine was even a badder mofo than Iron-Man... he was black (the same race as Sam L. Jackson) and he had huge guns...

Iron Man is fucking an awesome super hero Xander...

He is a brilliant/genius scientist/engineer and his suite makes him an unstoppable ass-whooping machine... he can fly, shoot fucking lasers, go into space and water, make a shield every once in a while...he has cool sensors and what not

come on xander how are you going to make fun of Iron man and call him a Tin can man when you have Prime as your avatar... he is like prime only smarter and he has fucking lazer hands and he flies instead of turning into a truck..

Maybe I was a little harsh Zanth, I apologize. As a comic, I never liked the character....I like my super heroes/super humans without technology...kinda like my fantasy :D

That said, I'll probably see the movie, because RDJ is an awesome actor and I have to admit it looks pretty cool. Still not a fan of the character, but what the hell is another 10 bucks? ;)

Never compare him to Optimus though, NEVER!!!

Optimus Prime is the single baddest Robot ever...EVER!!!

I'd like to see a Silver Surfer movie, without the stupid Fantastic Four in it...bunch of lame asses...

though Alba can be in it of course, she's too damn fine.

A silver surfer movie would probably be a very stupid idea. About ten times as bad a Ghost Rider I think.

Nothing can be as bad as Ghost Rider, Apt. Silver Surfer could be good just because of the potential for special effects. Plus the whole background story is pretty moving, as well as the fact the guy is responsible for billions of deaths by finding planets for Galactus....I see a lot of potential there.

Yeah, but how would you make that story come across? They didn't even show Galactus in the FF movie. Bastards. The silversurfer doesn't even have much of a personality. He's just some dude who flies around causing the death of planets and mopping about his dead girlfriend, which by the way, unless they retconned the story, THE DEVIL HAS TAKEN! stupidest thing ever.

And as for the potential of special effects, I believe that was what I was thinking when I saw the Ghost Rider trailer.

Valid points, both of you. Daredevil quite possibly was the worst comic movie ever....with the possible exception of Batman and Robin....argh.

I think Silver Surfer could work.....and the Surfer developed more of a personality in the comics later on....plus he has almost godlike power and yet very human flaws...makes for a compelling figure.

I'm going to assume you don't call Electra the worst comic movie because you haven't seen it. This is a good thing. Don't change it.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Just saw it today, and this is actually a really good film. So much better than what I was fearing it might degenerate into. The casting was absolutely spot on, for every character:)

Very true sir. I don't plan on it, no matter how hot she is.

The New Hulk SHOULD be good w/ Edward Norton in it....but they've screwed us before..... :eek3:

Saw it just a while ago. I don't know what to say.

But in a good way. Oh what a good way!

I'm loving what they're doing with these comic book heroes. RDJ was perfectly cast, as was Gwyneth Paltrow. I didn't once feel the direction or editing was off. The action was good, and the CGI was... unnoticeable. It looked so damn' sweet.

The baddies coulda been better, but great performances by our heroes (including Stark's AIs) more than made up for their shortcomings.

With almost all the super-hero movies I've seen in the past few years, I've felt like they've been too short. Not so with Iron Man, but I mean that in a good way as well. It was a very satisfying movie experience

Warmly recommended. Stay until the end of the credits for the sweetest surprise. I didn't, and hearing about what I missed caused me MUCH ANGUISH :D
