The interesting thing about Iron Man is the fact that he's an alcoholic nihilistic fuck. Not that he's particularly kick-ass (he's not).

Movie looks good. Let's hope it's not a cheese-fest.

The vast swathes of nerd in this thread are rather off-putting. Maybe I'll go see Three and Out instead.

I had no idea Iron Man was even relevant enough to make a movie about. That's what has my head scratching. I was a huge comic nerd when I was younger, and I thought he was the lamest tin can with lazers...EVER.

Has something changed in the last 10 years? Has Iron Man suddenly become a bad ass in the Marvel Universe?!...

He took over SHEILD, outlawed Captain America and is now in charge of like, every superhero in the USA.

Wait, fuck, i mean, i have no idea...

oh and Iron would wupp the shit out of Bat-Man... I'm just throwing that out there.

A portable EMP and a can-opener would do the job nicely for Pointy-Ears.

Of course I'm going to see this, but I've avoided seeing any trailers or clips since the first one (with the Black Sabbath song playing). The studios usually have control of the trailers for promotional reasons and they usually manage to spoil the experience for me by showing me bits and pieces of the entire dang movie. All I want from a trailer is an introduction to the characters and a few hints at the basic plot-line. No further beatings of the dead horse required.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I'm certain EMPs do not work against Ironman. His weird deflector field probably isolates him or something.

or just a little electrode that instantly vapourizes all doo doo and wee wee.

I bet it stinks really bad when the #2 gets burned up.

Well considering that the eighties version was a foldable suit, which fit inside a suitcase, that was magnetized (or something) to harden like steel... I would suggest you don't think too hard on that particular problem.

War machine was and still is awesome. Basically warmachine is just another Ironman suit, upgraded with more firepower if I'm not mistaken.

I believe the guy that was inside Warmachine is also the guy that took over Tony Starks Iron man suit while Stark was in rehab and losing his company.

War-Machine was even a badder mofo than Iron-Man... he was black (the same race as Sam L. Jackson) and he had huge guns...

Iron Man is fucking an awesome super hero Xander...

He is a brilliant/genius scientist/engineer and his suite makes him an unstoppable ass-whooping machine... he can fly, shoot fucking lasers, go into space and water, make a shield every once in a while...he has cool sensors and what not

come on xander how are you going to make fun of Iron man and call him a Tin can man when you have Prime as your avatar... he is like prime only smarter and he has fucking lazer hands and he flies instead of turning into a truck..

screw that. I hate opening nights. Having only 1 theatre in my city, it gets totally ridiculous on the opening night of anything popular

I'll go next monday probly.

I agree with you, I've never understood people's obsession with going to see a movie at the premier. It's overcrowded and noisy and if you do manage to get the ticket it's often in a crappy place, like at the bottom and way out on the side.

exactly. The Empire Theatres in Fredericton is the most ghetto theatre ever.

I went to see LOTR...two towers I think... on opening night. Two people brought infants that cried the ENTIRE FUCKING MOVIE. The only thing more irritating (but also slightly hilarious) were the lashings of pure hatred everybody was yelling at the parents the whole time.

I will never go to another opening night. Here at least

There is a certain cachet to having seen a movie on the first night - a saw all three LotR movies on opening night; but you are right about the crowding and noise. That's why I tend to go to previews, and will be doing so on Thursday night...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants.
