Yeah, the CoL storyline seems to be aiming at a Matrix-y kind of thing. Whatever that little piece of tech that Jaha tried to give to Murphy seems to be a conduit to this fabricated world. The fact that the big, ugly bastard is dead in real life now, but still showed up to Jaha in the CoL proves it's a simulation that the hologram chick is using to fool them. If I had to guess at the storyline now, Jaha is VERY broken after losing his son, almost sacrificing himself like 3 times for the Ark crew, and ending up as not in charge and everyone basically thinking him nuts...so he went nuts. He's reaching for something. He thinks the City of Light is an easy way out from the reality of the Grounder-world that he's seen (that of the squabbling tribes, and vicious rules) he's been placed in. It's a fools arrand questline that will out eventually...but since we all know that, it's really kind of boring. ESPECIALLY juxatposed with the main Arkadia storyline finally coming to Polis (the Grounder city) and we see that the Grounder tribes are not just crazy, disciplined warrior mobs...but rather protect a huge civilization and are united under a queen who rules from a tower. I LOVE that we saw an entire episode that delved into the Grounder society at that level. Especially the bits in the main city (Abbie and Kane exploring the local population which seems to run like any other peaceful settlement might). We realize that Tricru are an outlier, a border village to what Polis represents and what Lexa rules over. I am also a HUGE fan of Mt. Weather being destroyed. It was a place of death, and horrors, and years of despicable experiments. It needed to go if Arkadia was to thrive properly. I'm SO glad that the Arkadians joined the Grounders as the 13th tribe and bent the knee. That Kane and Indra appear to be solid friends (and maybe she's even forgiven Octavia!). It appears that the Ice Nation is the new Foe of the show...and I like it because they are methodical and SUPER threatening. Anyone else note that the Ice Nation Prince who captured and brought Clarke to Lexa was the guy from BLACK SAILS? He's a great actor.

Anyways. Loving this so far this season (minus the boredom of the CoL arc...but hopefully that will wrap fast or get more interesting)...I did NOT see that ending to Ep3 coming, with Echo betraying Bell and Co. so they could turncoat and take out Mt. Weather.

Can't wait to see what's in store for us next!

The piece of tech/computer chip looking thing, Jaha did put it in his mouth, correct? Some kind of tech that can actually be ingested? I didn't make the Matrix connection, but you and BK are right on that, very similar. I also agree Jaha has lost it. He's found a savior's quest to cope with the loss of his son, and some of the decisions he was forced to make on the Ark, I think. Does anyone recognize that tower in Polis? I would think it would be the remains of a real place since Mt. Weather is real and I believe they've shown the head of the Statue of Liberty somewhere. I don't recognize the tower, though. I recognized the Black Sails captain immediately; he always stands out in a scene. Clarke's next love interest, or possibly third corner of a Clarke triangle with Lexa perhaps?

Yeah, I think he for sure ingested it. I think that's the only way that Holochick has control of it/him...it's some kind of bio-planted tech that accesses his cerebral cortex directly probably.

Well, Lincoln/Indra's village is near the Lincoln Memorial (probably what Lincoln himself is named after) as that was on the outskirts when Octavia was taken there initially. That's at the end of the National Mall in DC...and I know that Mt. Weather is Northern Virginia. So we're at least playing in the area of Washington and the East coast. Not sure what building that is or where....but it can't be central DC since that's where the outlying village is. I don't recognize it either, but I'm not American so maybe someone else has?

I'm also curious about the Ice Nation. Obviously the world's climate is effed from what it was...but how far North is the Ice Nation then? Like NY? I initially thought it might be Canada, but that would be WAY too far away.

I think Arkadia is in the Shennandoah Valley beyond Mt. Weather for sure.

This whole scene killed me.

Two things occur here that break my heart...Raven giving Jasper his goggles back is heartwrenching. This is who he was before Mya was killed. He's not ready to go back to that yet, but the simple act of Raven and Wick giving him them back is enough to give him pause. Mark my words, when Jasper is ready to come back into the fold from Drunken/Crazy/Distraught/Mourning-Land...these goggles will be the signify-er.

But yeah, let's talk about Bell and Clarke. This fucking pulled my heart out. This is the first scene in which you KNOW. Like flat out KNOW that Bellamy loves Clarke. He's also savvy enough to know she's not there yet herself. She's got a long journey ahead of her first. He knows that, and lets her go without TOO much fuss or comment. You can see it in his eyes. He adores her. If these two don't end up together in the end I will be bereft.

Everything SEEMED fine at the end of S2 with them...Wick finally breaking through Raven's wall with regards to romance since Finn's death...but there was a bit of dialogue between Sinclair and her in S3 Ep1 that alluded to the fact that Wick and her weren't an item after the time jump?

more predictable than Ep3 but still quite good. However, I am disappointed in Bellamy's arc. I don't buy him throwing in with Pike. Despite the Mt.W. destruction that Bellamy feels responsible for, he knows Indra and enough of those 300 grounders better than Pike and I don't see him turning and ready to kill 'em all like that. Why is he so subservient to Pike's opinion? Where is the B from S1 who said to hell with any authority from the Ark; we're surviving here, we make our own rules? It feels counter to his character development to me...

Other than that, good episode. Leaving out the CoL for two straight eps, though, makes me afraid we'll soon get one or two dominated by that arc.

Bellamys actions make no sense and are totally against character. I could have seen someone as effed up as Jasper support Pyke...but for Bellamy to do so feels like character regression.

All that said, show runner Jason Rothberg has a plan. He's mapped out what season 4 will consist of, so I gotta hope he's going somewhere.

I mean Montys mom is in Pykes group too.

I'm also nonplussed that Arkadia still has enough assholes who hate grounder to get Pyke voted in as Chancellor.

I can buy Monty's mother as part of it. She lost her husband of how many years as a direct result of grounder attack. And she's been under Pike's (Pyke?) influence the whole time they've been on the ground. But Bellamy has been a leader and knows the consequences that can come of making leader decisions (along with Clarke). He also knows the grounder factions/tribes and has literally worked hand in hand with Indra, at least. It's like the writers decided a major character had to be included in Pike's lynch mob and they shoe-horned Bellamy in.

Being as obsessed with the show as I am I spend a lot of time on the Executive Producers twitter feed during the forever hiatus. The actor that played Wick from what I can tell is a huge bigot and a racist asshole. Jason Rothenberg himself played it out to be a contract thing and they couldn't work out bringing him back but if he really wanted the actor back then I'm sure he would have worked something out given how he literally said he begged AMC to bring back Alycia for the Lexa role. Which I think we are all very grateful that he was able to do that.

I agree with you that I think Bellamy is heads over heals for Clarke. I wasn't quite as sold as you during the finale. It wasn't until Wanheda Pt2 when he finally found Clarke only to lose her again and his reaction after Roan injured him and he refused to give up even with his injury, no trail and Roan knowing that he is being followed. Especially in contrast with his scenes with Gina. I'm not 100% sure where Clarke's feelings on the matter are though. I know she cares for him a lot especially after the events at the end of season 2 but will she ever see him in that light? I think it's definitely possible but with Bellamy's state of mind and currently aligning with Pike in what looks to be a horrible massacre will he burn that bridge even before they are both in a position to cross it together?

She was only in the pilot. Jason Rothenberg mentioned that when the show was ordered to series that he cut the part as he didn't have enough for that character to do. It was so strange on the rewatch thinking where did she go?

Yeah no Murphy or Jaha for 2 whole episodes. I know a lot of people hate on Jaha but I'm fascinated with where they are taking this story. From the trailers for the next episode it looks like he finally makes a reappearance. I'm a bit worried for Raven or Jasper. I can see either one of them being in the wrong state of mind to be buying what Jaha is selling. The CoL can't be good can it?

I could buy into Bellamy siding with Pike especially with all the gut punches he has had to deal with recently but I have a hard time with him joining in on the attack of the army. Maybe it's just me trying to think would I be able to ambush a group of people that my mentor (Kane) told me was here to protect us even after just being betrayed and duped the way he was by Echo.

In Canada we get the show on the day it airs on the CW on Netflix, probably becasue the CW is not TOO readily available up here. But yeah, we watch it day and date on NEtflix.
