Their beard budget alone must have been through the roof.

I'd like it to do well so we could maybe get a Starcraft movie! But agree that cgi looks rough.

Even ignoring the CGI, it looks pretty awful. I'm surprised Duncan Jones is wasting his time on this type of... stuff. After Moon and Source Code I've been really looking forward to his films. Hopefully he will get onto his next movie, "Mute," soon.

I don't even mind the goofy CGI. It can have its charms. But the dialogue...it is SO boilerplate fantasy -- "There is one...(pointless pause)...who can help us." -- that it's not even worth writing. It's not even that it's bad -- which it is -- but it's so artless. Like if you're an actor, sure, you might say "well here's my chance to play a warrior" or as a director you might say "here's my chance to stage a big battle." And you might not care if the end product is particularly good. But if you're a writer, do you really say "here's my chance to write down the words 'Why are you here?' -- 'To save our people.'"? Like, how is that the way you use your chance to write a fantasy movie? How are you a person?

I agree with the above criticisms and on top of that I wonder about the plot. I did not get any sense of direction from the trailer. There are some bad orcs and some good orcs. Good orcs team up with men to fight bad orcs. But why and how and where? Is this movie before or after the Dark Portal? Are there demons orchestrating the invasion? Is there anything more to the movie than fight greenskins?

I think part of the problem is that the budget would probably not be like AVENGERS level for CGI...coupled with the fact that pretty much half the cast HAS to be CGI...it looks goofy. Had I been Duncan Jones, I might have gone with practical effects? I dunno, this was always going to be a tough flick to film.

I'll still see it, because Fantasy and Travis Fimmel (RAGNAR!!!!)...but otherwise it looks pretty bad.

I really don't see who their target audience is. I am usually pretty open to any type of film and I probably wouldn't see this even if someone paid for my ticket. Maybe I am underestimating how many fans are out there for this cause I do not see anyone other than that to see it. Maybe trying to cash in from all that Hobbit garbage that was successful?

Realistically, over time, more than 20 million people have probably played World of Warcraft. Even more people will have heard about the game in some related context. There is a big core audience for this film.

Who knows, maybe the games to film adaptations will replace the now pretty worn out superhero movies. At least games have different plots, unlike the superhero stuff that is essentially the same film with just different characters. I know I would definitely go see a proper MGS film.

CGI looks just fine to me.

Hokey dialogue, a bit. However, this isn't Shakespeare. The pacing and the overall story matter more than the specific dialogue shown in a trailer. Duncan Jones (and the crew who've worked with him) has shown a very strong track record for making us care about what's onscreen in Moon and in Source Code.

I'm not super pumped about this and never played WoW, but it looks a bit better than the dour stuff Briar King and a few of you are saying.

I think I have a tolerance for a wider range of "acceptable CGI" than you do. The fluidity of orc/creature movement seems to already be better than what we've seen in some other movies.

Also, keep in mind that the movie is targeted for a late June 2016 release. There's 6 months between now and then to make CGI improvements like Guardians of Galaxy or Jurassic World did between their trailers and release.

I'm with you on the CGI, but I have to disagree on the dialogue. It's not just hokey, and it's not just 'a bit' of what it is. Every single line in the trailer is dire. Like if you were an ESL Freshman student on the first day of Screenwriting 101 and handed that in, I'd make it my life's mission to see you expelled.

Yeah i'm with Worry on the dialogue.

It manages to utilise most every cliche bit of gack that's ever been uttered in a cheap fantasy film. Doesn't bode well.

I think it will suck overally, I agree on CGI and on dialogue with worry too, but whats bugging me is theres so much potential in the world of Azeroth, all the races and creatures and places and classes and armours and weapons and plots, and they make it plain Human warriors vs Orc warriors.

I believe I would hate it same as I hate Hobbit movies so Im not even curious to watch it
