    It was a good book

It was an Ok first book for a starting author. Rehashing his idea that a woman is only important if she almost (or does) get raped and the eventual descent into relatively random anti-fascism tirades, except calling fascism communism, along with the pretty big inability to get away from the tropes that have been plaguing mediocre fantasy novels for years is what drags it down.

    Also the chime chickens.
  2. In Topic: The USA politics thread -

Does John Pierce know 'the shot heard around the world' had the redcoats travel to attack the colonists that gathered to 'defend' their village? And that many 'colonists' were hurt/killed and only one redcoat was?

Rittenhouse is clearly the aggressor here, he brought a weapon across state lines to attack the 'locals' who were protesting something the government was doing. His poorly chosen analogy paints his client as the attacking force, and the losing side, of the revolutionary war. The people Rittenhouse attacked and murdered 2 people who were participating, legally, in US politics. No wonder his legal firm is in debt.

    Yes, here's hoping.

Doubt DA4 will be out before 2023 at this rate, though

No probably not. I think EA just had an investor call and went over a couple of years expectations, and DA4 was not on their expected list through fiscal year 2022, which ends I think March 2023.

The strange thing is that the DA4 trailer is more or less the same reveal/presentation they did a couple years ago I think.

They apparently were 'allowed' to throw away the work on the previous iteration of DA4 after the critical failure of Andromeda and Anthem.

Expectations in the community is DA4 is at least 2 years away, and then they blasted us with 'we're working on it'. Frustrated.

I'd rather have not heard anything until closer to release.

There were suggestions that Bioware will try to salvage some of the work done on Anthem and make DA4 "Anthem with Dragons".

    Hope not.

I mean randos on the interwebs can say whatever random stuff they want. Bioware currently has one of their studios doing an 'Anthem 2.0' effort - and its getting close-ish to be done. We'll see where that lands, but it's certainly looking better than what is there now, even if I found Anthem a very fun game, it has some deficiencies in a lot of the systems that support the gameplay loop that they seem to be addressing.

I really doubt they would sacrifice the Dragon Age brand and move away from a single player focused game, especially with the success of the new Star Wars title.
