About Me
I am affronted by promise,
pierced through with the gleam of the hope of abiding.
Vision affixes my limbs to a tree that stands straight
only because it is chained to the sky.
Transfixed by needles of light, though I cannot see the world,
I am forced to swallow raindrops blessed in eager hindsight
and stare upon my own blood's turgid revel,
as ravers in a masquerade.
Swaying amid invisible columns of dust,
catatonic, or perhaps merely overcome by vividness --
are they really tumbling?
Or is this but the slide of my days into the lie beyond night?
And if I should shed tears against this drawn hood,
would they dry before moon-set?
These glories we have raised... they shall not stand.
