So i had some free time last week and i finished off an old painting. It's supposed to be Cotillion. The figures in the background are those children cut down from outside aren. Not sure if they work - i nearly posted the no-kids version, i don't know.
don't be afraid to be critical.

Looks awesome

I can't figure out if Cots seems too slim, the arms and legs seem so thin, but then again... he actually looks very "real" and not like a comic book superhero.

Im impressed, that is probably the best rendition of Cot I have seen...

The kids give it a more freaky feel... they looked possessed... it works if thats what you are going for... children of the corn..eh children of shadow....
You can't find me because I'm lost in the music

awesome spin, I think the kids really add to it, give some nice depth to the pic. Not really much to add, looks sweet, only thing I'm not overly keen on is the shoulder guards.

apt: yeah, you're right. the legs (the thighs) are too thin. [edit:] his left arm too, damn.

I never envisioned Cot as being well built like kalam, just wiry and ridiculously fast so this is pretty spot on for me.
Oh and the children are suitably creepy

It's reasonably good, I'm trying to figure out my entire feelings - I feel finicky and want to check the complete description.

awesome work... have rep

And I saw that close-up pic of Envy for the first time... reminded me of Angelina Jolie from Beowulf... was that your inspiration?

I really like it. Though I'd picture him being a little more muscular. Not huge and big...but lean and fit...

Great job spin, have rep!

Use the Force, Luke. Or check the name of the picture. I also noticed the similarity. Looks like Angelina in Beowulf.

He kinda reminds me of that character off of that game Assassin's Creed...a little too boyishly slim...but awesome still.

In response to many of the posts in this thread, didn't it say early in GotM that Cotillion was relatively tall and lean while Ammanas was shorter and stouter? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, I am always very serious about my compliments--I love the pic. You are the best artist I've seen in this forum, and that's saying a lot.

Kel is described as being short and kind of gnarled...but comments from Cotillion have led us to believe that this representation of ST is very exaggerated.

Thanks for the comments, everyone :p

Cot always seemed the opposite sort of assassin to kalam: slim, effete, and superbly controlled. His mortal name was dancer and his ascendant name is a type of dance. his mannerisms appear to me to be almost effeminate sometimes.

I understood that this interpretation is not canon and other people may not share it (way less than i realized, apparantly), so i went for the middle ground, keeping the slender appearance (too much in spots, as pointed out. ill fix that later) but downplaying the effete.

It' not my definitive version of cotillion, but i got to a point where i didn't know how to change it that could reflect his character more.

About the Envy close-up. yeah, someone said in another thread that they pictured her as jolie, and it felt right, so i tried it out. The reference was a still from Alexander. I've never seen beowulf, unfortunately.

everyone stop asking for Rake pics in the rep comments :p
i'm not nearly good enough to do a pic of him that would even come close to doing him justice.
