I think its safe to assume that SE could embody any character. Even is SE took inspiration for some characters from other sources, each one has certain personality traits that SE has created.
In previous interviews, SE has stated he is quite dark and viseral in his writings and that portrays how he sees the world.
Crippled God or K'rul is my guess
Who would SE be as Malazan character?

I'd say Duiker and Urko (person in tower with dinosaur skeletons).
The part where Curdle and Telorast (not-Apsalars ghosts) possess the two skeletons and starts to move and behave like the living creatures once did sounds too much like a paleontologists wet dream to be ignored

Kilmandaros. There's just too much physical resemblance to belience otherwise. And obviously if you're going to write yourself into a book, you want to be the character who kills dragons by punching them in the face...
