Well, it's not RotCG... but I got the consolation prize -> Guy Gavriel Kay's poetry book...
not that I can ever recall reading a scrap of poetry by GGK...

Ah, there's no pleasing you people!
Even if I found a way to hook up everyone here with a copy of Toll the Hounds, some of you would still complain!
Perhaps I should keep those signed TtH for myself. . .

What was that, Patty?
But seriously, your generosity is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!
Do you have any solid release dates yet, Pat?

Of course, my only win on Pat's blog is about to become irrelevant, in about a month, so hopefully that means I can win something new

I'm very, very happy. Just not *as* happy as I would've been with RotCG. But I take what I can get, being a lowly llama farmer in Ontario.
It's just... Guy Gavriel Kay <---> Poetry???
since when does he do poetry? I love his books and I guess this is the only one I wouldn't buy, but really, I've never heard of him doin' poetry? Maybe it'll have some crazy pick up lines in it... yeah, that'd be awesomeskillet.

Pat, about how many people usually enter a given contest? I realize it must fluctuate, but could you hazard a guess...
If the odds are slim, I'll feel better about never winning.

As you implied, it depends...
The least popular giveaways will receive between 100 and 200 entries.
An "average" giveaway will get about 250 to 400 entries.
A popular contest will get between 500 and 700 entries.
The record-holder at the moment is GRRM, whose DREAMSONGS giveaway received over 1100 registrations.

Do you have any record of how many applied for the Reaper's Gale original giveaway and the RotCG giveaway? Just curious, if it's too much trouble don't worry.
On another note, ARC! ARC! ARC!
Pat, should we worry about Abyss and his spoon?

The original RG giveaway brought in about 500 entries, if memory serves me right. But keep in mind that the blog is now twice as popular as it was when RG was released, so back then these were incredible numbers.
As for RotCG, it got about 450 registrations.
And no, I don't fear that brain-eating kitten!

Remember, God lets good looking people into Heaven. That said, you're one ugly Bastard.
