"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

You two don't know the watchmen? Well, here's a link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchmen

It's a sort of graphic novel mini-series, I think there were about 12 isues. The story was about a bunch of old or retired superheroes that are slowly being killed off by an unknown foe. It's an adult sort of comic with a lot of dialogue and mature topics as it theme. It was also just plain weird.

Except one of them, I don't actually think any of them had any real superpowers, like say superman or spiderman. They were more like Batman or Captain America. They were highly trained and relied on advanced technology and weapons.

No superpowers? Dr. Manhattan? What?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Rocking cool pics eh? I thought Ozymandias looks too young/ too much like the guy from Heroes and Gilmore Girls - whassisname?. The rest are awesome - especially Night Owl.

Be stoked as much as you want, despite how good this movie looks on paper, and with still, I have no doubt it will fall flat in execution. The storyline of Watchmen was never meant, and should never have been made into a movie.

I'd really like to see an Alan Moore story be turned into a good movie, they had plenty of chances (From Hell, V For Vendetta, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) but Watchmen shouldn't be made into a flick.

Zach Synder is good director, it's just the wrong property.

Alan Moore has stated, along with a large number of creators in comics that Watchmen was never meant to, and should not be made into a movie. The story doesn't work.

It's a almost a sure thing it will be butchered worse than any of his other work.

Anyone who hasn't read the graphic novel - go do that, please. Then read From Hell and then come thank me.

Anyway... yeah, Ozy looks wrong. Also, they've gone with the Batman & Robin style rubber suits and it doesn't come off. Night Owl should be middle aged and fat, ffs. (Rorschach looks spot on... who is playing him?)

Can you recommend a good sequence for League? I was looking through a B&Noble shelf the other day and didn't know what 'essential' stuff to buy and what order to read it in. In the end skipped buying any of them and bought Maus instead. Been meaning to read it for some time now.

League is 2 6 issue mini-series, but unfortuantly, with a lot of different publications, and a lot of different extras depending on the version.

They should simply be League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume 1 and Volume 2.

The printing will all have the 6 issues volume, some might just have more extras than the others.

Ignore the Black Dossier for now, it's kind of a past incarnations of LoEG series that isn't a big deal to read, not until you have read Vol 1 and 2 anyway.

Moore plans of writing a third volume.

That about cover it?

Don't think your links are working.

Tbh, I never really liked V. It was technically good, but it left me cold. Too stark, too depressing. Too 80's. I think the artwork and colouring had a major influence on me as well - I didn't care for it at all.
