Who could actually play Richard? They mentioned the old hercules and Zena series. It could be cool if the they casted Kevin Zorbo as Richard allthough he reminds me more of the brother, you know the psyco rapist/ Jack the Ripper healer.

I watched 'meet the spartans' over the weekend, and Kevin Sorbo was in it. He is very entertaining, I always did like him in hercules.

(although I like both stars of Xena a little more)

I could imagine that they would take an untried person to play the roles. To lend more focus to the actual story and less importance to a famous persons portrail.

He was in both series, and was great.

How is Bruce Campbell so amazing?

Ahoy!

I always enjoyed the Kevin Sorbo "Hercules" show.

This Goodkind series on the other hand....geez, I don't know. Goodkind is such a monumental prick and nutter. I suppose if Terry doesn't have a direct hand in the show, it could be not too bad in a campy way.

@apt

Not saying MBotF or WoT couldn't be adapted...but you're right it would definitely have to be serialized (like what they're doing with SoIaF) and the detail would lose most viewers I think. Too bad stuff like that needs to make money...It would be cool if I had gazillions of dollars and just said "I want a wheel of time series...hire whoever you need and spend what you want. I don't care about the profit". You could make some seriously cool stuff that way. No worries about lame product placement, no sponsors to satisfy, no ratings boards to care about, just make something cool and faithful to the book.

well, the chain of dogs was originally drafted as a screenplay wasnt it?

GotM was originally, I think it was only a while after DGs release that someone suggested a film could be based on the Chain of Dogs.

There's a hundred pages long thread on this... the DG forum I think.

Oh god...I wake up and find that Hell has indeed, frozen over.

Hmmm....possible actors for Rahl.

1. Joey from Friends...hahahaha
2. Robert from Everybody Loves Raymond
3. David Puddy from Seinfeld

:)

Excellent choices, let me add;

Ted Danson and Tom Selleck. Ooohm maybe van dam? Or even Vin Diesel.

I wonder what kind of budget we're talking about here. The article mentions Xena and Hercules, not exactly expensive series.

I'm thinking around the same budget as Blossom?

Tom Selleck...oooo nice one Apt.

Stallone? nah...even he has too much pride for this role... :)

I think I just came a little.

But Alanis Morisette?

Rather have the girl from Transformers. She was quite the looker.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

but also very young, Kalan is in her thirties or something isn¨t she?

I have this actress in my head but I just can't get the name out.

Being typically american, I wonder if they are going to prop in various asian and african actors that won't make sense geograhically. Of course D'hara could be black people, allthough I picture them more middle eastern looking,

they did adapt a good fantasy story. Earthsea. And then screwed that one up big time. both in the real life acting version and the cartoon version.

i'm glad SE is taking his time about his own film adaptation, as it really sucks when the author isn't in charge of the direction of the film. go read Le Guin's rants about how they screwed up the Earthsea films.

This Sam Raimi is the guy that brought us the steaming pile of turd that made fanboys cream their jeans during Xena and it's offshit i mean offshoot "Hercules The Legendary Adventures", I have no fear that all this Goodkindling series will do is spawn a few decent titles for porno movies after it gets shunted to late night cable.
Can't wait for the fallout to hit goodkindling fans though, that ought to be awesome :)
I can see it now, fanboys comitting ritual seppuku in walmart parking lots across america!
