Went and Bought;
The Etched City by K J Bishop
It was a steal at $7 down from $30 and this is in Trade paperback.
Also went and bought, though not on sale;
Berlin by Antony Beever
This will let me finish of from where Stalingrad left of and that was one damn fine book as well.
and last but surelly not least;
Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk
Havent read anything by this guy before but I've only heard good things about him.
Now I have the difficult decision of deciding which one to read

use of weapons by Iain M Banks
Excellent, excellent book.
@Cause - I would personaly suggest starting with Consider Phlebas as that book pretty much introduces and defines the Culture. Furthermore, the book is worthwhile to read just for the ending which is excellent
Just finished Mark of Ran, which I thought was good if not magnificent. The starting premise of a young boy with the blood of gods in his veins and a big destiny in front of him did bother me at first, but the authro did manage to make it tolerable which is impressive considering the share size of the cliche.
Thinking of buying Banks' next culture novel

Book four of Kate Elliots Crown of Stars series titled "Child of Flame"
I liked book 3 a little bit more then the other two. So I'm soldiering through. The first chapter about the cursed ones is wierd. Time travel prehaps?

My holiday reading will now consist of:
Fallen Dragon by Peter F. Hamilton
Going Postal by Terry Pratchett
Shadow by K.J. Parker
Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Hopefully that should be enough to last me a week...

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

I am goin away to basic training (boot camp) this summer so i went out and bought a couple books.
The second, third and fourth books in the AsoIaf series- I liked the first one so i bought the rest.
The Darkness that Come Before- first in the Prince of Nothing series, suggested by a friend and ive heard good reviews.
The battle of Bleinheim- I think thats the title, something historic so its not all fantasy.
Other than that i still have all the MBotF series i can re-read for a third time, so i should be good for the summer, if not ill just have to buy some more up there.

A General History of the Robberies & Murders of the Most Notorious Pirates by Captain Charles Johnson - a contemporary account of "the Golden Age of Piracy" (it was originally published in 1724) Much more fun than you'd imagine.
The Prince of Deadly Weapons by Boston Teran - a very hard-boiled, modern-day, pulp thriller. Much less nasty than the author's previous books had led me to believe it would be...So far

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Today I picked up:
A Song For Arbonne, By Guy Gavriel Kay. This is the first time I've read another one of his Single novels since Tigiana. Hope it's good.
A Fortress Of Grey Ice, By J.V. Jones. The first book was okay so I thought I would carry on reading.
And lastly, The Art Of War - Illustrated Edition.I like spending money on things I don't need.

Trouble, good timing. After a lengthy four-year delay, Jones completed Book 3 in the series in January and it should be published at the start of next year.
I fininished Christopher Priest's The Separation yesterday. It was absolutely stunning, one of the most mind-bending books I've read. Review here.
Now reading Flashman and the Mountain of Light. Flashman is always hilarious. Great books.
