Laugh at me right now if you want, I don't care. Laughter is good therapy, so you'll be pleased to hear I ordered the DARTH BANE trilo for Kindle (got a business trip coming up). To your health BK!
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Look at the size of this bugger!
Right? I've got the same one and am not yet sure about how to tackle it without seeing it fall apart at some point midway..
Also, more on topic, I bought the french translation of the first Black Company novel, and am thinking of getting the other two to complete the first trilogy. Going to touch up my french when I'm done with uni. Also, just one more excuse to reread the BC yet AGAIN.

Not really bought, but received Brent Weeks' "The Broken Eye" and the omnibus edition of "The Fionovar Tapestry" for Christmas.

That's actually a pretty cool cover but it's weird seeing it on this book. I have the baby blue omnibus where she's on horseback fighting wolf things in that old school fantasy style, and it fits perfectly.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I quite like the cover. From the synopsis, it fits pretty well - armoured and armed, waiting for the storm to come. Oddly it's one of the few books that my cousin (Kez, on the facebook page for the forum) hasn't read.
Briar - I put a thread up about them asking if they were any good, the answers came back that they're solid and workmanlike, which is sometimes all I want in a book.

HOLY SHIT
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

K.J. Parker's the Company, the Hammer, the Folding Knife, and Colours in Steel. I've only read Parker's Sharps but it was one of my favorites of 2014 so I'm looking forward to more.

Failing that, elbow strikes for days.

A shoryuken is a jumping uppercut with a very loud shout. You guys are thinking of shurikens. Throwing stars.
