Just know that LAST LIGHT is a waaaaaay earlier work and not nearly at the same level as the other two.

Got Children of Earth/Sky and All Seas in yesterday. That’s the most pressing GGK books I wanted so I ll have 7 to jump into soon.
Next orders in future will probably be Michelle West.

If he can't write any more because of arthritis as a result of signing all these I'm blaming you!

I'm not a Collector by any means. My current MBotF set really is just a hodgepodge of hardcovers, trade paperbacks, and MMPBs. But these are tempting.

I figured it'll be one of the few chances I'll get to own a matching Malazan hardback collection. Plus some of my current paperbacks have loose pages and are well worn... couldn't resist!

West is out of print at Daw, so some books might become hard to find if you're looking for the paperbacks. No worries for the digital editions for the time being.

Went to pick up "The Trouble With Peace" yesterday, and predictably, in my local store, that book (Vol 2) is missing, while, Volumes 1 and 3 were sitting on the shelf, mocking me.
So I picked up The Lost Metal, the the new Wax & Wayne book. Read the blurb in the back, and realized I'll need to re-read the previous books to clue myself back into it.
Also, biked to the next store 7 klicks over today, and did pick up "The Trouble with Peace" to take as my vacation read. I've got until end of Thursday to finish "A little hatred" now.

You know I'm a fan of Peter Clines... he got me w his EX-HEROES superheroes v zombies books, but his THRESHOLD and related books are among my fave thriller/sf reads now and an automatic pre-order.
I just pre-ordered the earbook for an anthology titled COMBAT MONSTERS, primarily for his story because i find most anthologies disappointing, but am intrigued by the concept and at least a couple of other authors in there i know to be good.
More intriguing to me tho, is that the short story is about his characters 'Carter & Kraft'. Here's what i know about Carter & Kraft: Clines writes them, they're set during WW2, and he's written an unclear number of short stories about them, maybe 3.
Three minutes ago I found the first one - 'Banner of the Bent Cross' - easily, it's in a cheap anthology titled KAIJU RISING... and i need to check when i get home later because i think i already own it. A minute ago i found the second - 'Projekt Maria' in something titled MECH: AGE OF STEEL - not so cheap, am skeptical whether it's worth a whole audible credit, but will see - and now i'm a little obsessed w finding the rest of these... because Peter Clines writing weird war WW2 stories is something iwant need...
ETA ok it seems the three i've identified are all of them. Proceeding w acquisition.

Not sure who this would appeal to - but Peter S Beagle's The Last Unicorn and other works are back in print in the UK for the first time in decades (presumably after the legal problems with his IP rights were resolved). Bought myself a new copy (my copy was bought in Florida when I was 11 and has been very well read since and is falling apart) along with The Inkeeper's Song, A Fine and Private Place and The Way Home, none of which I've read before.
TLU one of the most beautiful books I've ever read - for anyone unfamiliar I'd say it's a forerunner in style to the kooky take on fairytales that Neil Gaiman does, but with more heart and charm and a drier wit.

Went to pick up the last Age of Madness book, as planned. While I was rummaging thru my cards post-vacation, I stumbled on a couple of bookstore gift cards. So with that, and given it's my birthday next week, and I got paid yesterday, I decided to splurge a bit.
so:
1) "the Wisdom of Crowds"- the last Abercrombie book in the trilo
2) "Age of Ash"- Book 1 in the new Abraham series
3) "The Priory of the Orange Tree"- Because I haven't dug into a big-ass doorstopper series in a while, and y'all seem to be pretty positive about this one.
