Speaking of which have you seen the Juniper book jackets for the Wheel of Time Hard Backs?

I hate book jackets but that would look amazing on a shelf.

150 USD for the jackets alone.

900 USD for books and covers.

when we get our bookshelf finished, and some bills cleared.
I'm treating myself a beautiful set of books like that. not WoT granted, but something, a Folio book society set or something.
Hell if my wife ever contacts one of your nerds about what to get me as a birthday/ christmas present, its some kind of special edition or folio set

They do them for lots of series. The price tag is high, but the effort is gorgeous!

After a very tidy pay rise at work and less social interactions due to covid, lately I've found myself with a lot more money to play with, the last thing I need is a thread like this with all these book temptations... I'm starting to develop a joy for the special edition purchases where as before a book was just there to be read.

Maaaaaaaaaan, I wouldn't pay that much for a human jacket, let alone a book jacket.

I do enjoy Janny but it can be overbearing dramatic and emo at times. The writing is exceptional though, and there's an intriguing story. She's also within days of finishing the last book (as she posted to the tweeters yesterday) so it'll be a complete series soon.

Quantum of Nightmares by Charles Stross just dumped into my Kindle library. It's the 2nd book in the New Management spin off series from The Laundry Files.

A Practical Guide to Conquering the World by KJ Parker, the third and final book in The Siege trilogy also just dropped.

They're going on top of the TBR pile.

MYSTIC & RIDER by Sharon Shinn. Was recommended to me, and I read the first chapter or two and found it intensely light and compelling fantasy fare, so I nabbed it on kindle. Will probably read this before diving into BLACK-TONGUED THIEF for book club.
