it seems like he is becoming less and less fallible though. and i hope he continues that way:D

becoming more fallible in the non-physical sense. as in he's maturing and developing a personality that isn't Conan the BigDaddy.
Simple people are infallible in that they never know they are wrong. Karsa is becoming something more than that. although exactly what is hard to tell at this point.

I agree, in HOC he thought he was infallible but was proved wrong. Now, by the end of the series, if and when calm returns, karsa may not go down so easily, and i am seriously doubting he would lose in the first place.

Quick Ben is absurdly powerful, but hey, he's got twelve souls, is more mysterious than the meaning of life, and is resourceful to a fault. .

That was clever, have reps for that line... lol

You mentioned it being BS because Karsa's will is what is making him powerful (one reason anyway) well I think that’s one of the point’s SE likes getting across, its all about attitude and willpower... "I think I can there for I can." type thing...

If it keeps going this way, Karsa's death will probably be from a Knife in the back (a big knife though) or through self sacrifice,

I don’t mind him being so powerful, he has been groomed since the beginning to be a hard ass. I do wish he would have a moment to be like "that guy might beat me" similar to what Icairum had when he saw traveler but then again that just wouldn’t be like Karsa.

I just don’t know if Karsa's ultimate goal will be to conquer the world or to help it...

I only pray that Calm informs him her true name is Assbeat and proceeds to lend veracity to her namesake as she does precisely that to the douche.

I just spit out the wine I was drinking when I read this...holy shit that was funny.

I think Karsa will go down...and he will go down hard. He is by no means unstoppable. Icarium would waste him if he was in berserker mode.

I like Karsa because he is funny....not because he is a bad ass. The way he looks at the world is refreshing in between the philosophical viewpoint that sooooo many other characters have.

Karsa is like a big train that keeps on chugging.

karsa is a very contrary and "real" character imho
witness RG pg 453-454
"Karsa Orlongs mood was foul, but it did not occur to him that it in any way flavoured his conversation with Samar Dev. she was a woman and any exchange of words with a woman was fraught with her torturer's array of deadly implements, each one hovering at the very edge of a man's comprehension. swords were simpler even the harried disaster of all-out war was simpler than the briefest, lightest touch of a woman's attention. what infurated him was how much he missed that touch. true there were whores aplenty for the champions awaiting the emperor. but there was nothing subtle - nothing real - in that.
there must be a middle ground, karsa told himself. where the exchange exulted in all the sparks and feints that made things interesting, without putting his dignity at risk. yet he was realistic enough to hold little hope of ever finding it."

he is the savage barbarian, but at the same time he is intelligent and pragmatic.
he longs for love, revels in war and keeps his feet on the ground all at once.

basically i have to disagree with the original post. you just gotta read between the lines

I agree. He is such a versatile character in that he can go from savage to thinker...in the blink of an eye....like Sin says.

And I don't think Karsa thinks he is an unstoppable force. I think he realizes that in life...you have to seize the moment and take what you can get. He knows that the world he lives in...people seldom have control of their own lives...and he knows how to control what he can...the rest...
fuck it

The thing that I don't understand about Karsa haters (even in the tongue-in-cheek sense) is that their arguments really make no sense. We have seen nothing but a burgeoning maturity from the character of Karsa - it is the Samar Dev viewpoint of him that becomes annoying. (Although I must say I was disappointed with the whole "Gods, I should have had sex with him! Then I'd know!" revelation.)

Apparently sex with Karsa is the one thing in the world that would reveal his secrets. Karsa had so much time in which to prepare for his fight against Rhulad; he prepared himself for what needed to be done, and willingly allowed himself to be stabbed in order to get things done.

Now, that's just a side-track. The other thing I don't get is the fixation on the "HE HAS A WARREN WTF IMBALANCED." I believe the exact quote is "a kind of personal warren." Which is not to say that he has a warren, but that, because of generations and generations of upbringing through blood oil and whatnot has given him a kind of magical immunity. And it is a kind of immunity; the Ashok regiment's squad mage is able to disable him.

Again, the charge that Karsa is a one-sided invincible warrior really makes no sense. We have watched him mature far more internally than through his various fight scenes. I hope that in TtH we see him apologizing to his father and trying to atone for the mistakes made in his past.

ya, and the thing is, i believe karsa knows enough now to know that his father was right, and man enough to try and make it up to him. while raising his teblor army of fury.

Anyone else think Karsa would be a good baliff?

Karsa: WITNESS! Samar Dev, step forward.
Karsa: WITNESS! You are excesed.
Judge: We find you, gothos, guilty of being an ass. you are sentanced to death
Karsa: WITNESS! (decapitation).

No need for jails!
Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

I think Karsa will not find his father alive when he comes back...

I wonder what he is going to do with his army of Toblakai?

A lot of things could have happened in the laederon plateau or what ever Karsas home was called. The tribes he pissed off could have overwhelmed the Synyg, the human city could have started an all out war on the giants. I prefer to hope we get to see a coming home of Karsa.

I would also like to see the reaction when the people learn that the souls of their warriors have been caught in Karsas sword.

It won't be a cake walk for him when he returns home...that's for sure.

I think he is going to definitely have to help his people...I agree Apt...I think the Teblor will have fallen on hard times....

I can't wait to meet Karsa's women back at home. imagine the story's they've told about him fought his way through an entire other tribe of teblor. and of course his Sons/daughter's. Karsa is also a Warleader of an entire people and worship = Godhood. so that might be where some of his power is coming from these days if you know what i'm saying.

He might have kids.

But I doubt the teblor will be worshipping him. Cursing his name yes, thinking he's a god, certainly not.

Unless they have shouldermen/women that are scrying his whereabouts and actions, if so, then it's another story.
